Details on Marvel Studios' Phase Three

Today, Marvel Studios held an event at the El Capitan theater in Los Angeles. Kevin Feige took to the stage and unleashed their future plans. Here's everything they released about Marvel's Phase Three:

• May 6, 2016: Captain America 3: Civil War
• November 4, 2016: Doctor Strange
• May 5, 2017: Guardians of the Galaxy 2
• July 28, 2017: Thor: Ragnarok
• Nov 3, 2017: Black Panther
• July 6, 2018: Captain Marvel (it's Carol Danvers)
• November 2, 2018: Inhumans
• May 4, 2018: Avengers Infinity War Part 1
• May 3, 2019: Avengers Infinity War Part 2

Also, Chadwick Boseman has been cast as Black Panther and he'll appear in Civil War!

Now all I need is a cool looking timeline with Marvel and DC upcoming films for me to drool over.

Just keep the comedy down to a minimum when it comes to Black Panther. I can't wait!!!!

I see this as good news for fans of Dr. Strange, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and the Inhumans, in that Marvel is unlikely to cancel these books with upcoming movies slated in Phase III (or create books in order to increase character recognition). If nothing else, they may push stronger writers and artists to these titles in order to help sales, which only seems to help the fans of these characters.

This looks pretty solid. I'm looking forward to seeing how these work out.

Still don't get why they went with Civil War of all the Avengers stories they could choose from but whatever. Just have to wait and see if they're just borrowing the name like they are with Age of Ultron

Nice. Also interesting to point out that Marvel has a movie with a person of color as the lead coming out before DC, though DC will have a female lead movie a year before Marvel. Also worth noting that though Avengers 3 is a two part movie, at least they're only a year apart, where as Justice League is set two years apart for both parts. As excited as I am for DC's line up, I have a bit more faith in Marvels.

Pretty wild to see the Infinity War spanning two flicks. I wonder if that is to allow them to focus on what is happening with different characters and avoid contract issues.

Looks like they want to move to 3 movies a year starting in 2017, except for that weird one year gap between the two parts of Avengers: Infinity War. I wonder if that will be filled by anything else.
