who is your favourite superman rip off
You know how to tell if someone is a hater? they use the term "rip off" instead of the term "inspire".
Hyperion is the only Superman "rip-off" here, and he's probably my favorite character out of this bunch, so...there's my vote.
Gladiator is a pretty obvious Superman stand-in too... almost the exact same power-set.
Sentry, Wonder Man, and Blue Marvel(esp the first and last) have more in common with Dr. Manhattan than they do with Superman.
yeah, see? so they're actually Captain Atom ripoffs, not Superman.
:v
totally Blue Marvel.
unlike all of the others listed, he's got both virtually everything I like about Superman and he's got enough of his own distinct story to transcend the comparison.
Gladiator's only like Superman in that he's an alien with the same powers; he's got none of the charm.
Sentry's only got the powers, and the twist of being insane. He's a great character and good for moving stories, but he's almost more of a parody of Superman than actually comparable to him.
Hyperion's kind of just too much like Superman, without enough of his own unique thing at all. (And Wonder-man's barely like Superman at all, really).
But Blue Marvel, he's got the powers, the attitude, the intellect, even the cool secret fortress, but he's also got a completely unique back-story, a family, and a history all his own. To me, none of the others really come close.

Have to agree with this. The original Blue Marvel mini series was great. It's good to see that Marvel finally remember that he existed.

That series was great, it's a big part of what made me want to read Mighty Avengers. And, honestly, even in the short time he's been in MA, he's only gotten more interesting.

Good to hear. I only read the Infinity arc of Mighty and bailed because there was too much Powerman (god I hate that kid). Blue Marvel didn't do much in that first arc. I might check out the rest if he got a bigger role.
@powerplay: you should, yeah, he becomes way more central as the story continues.

Mighty Avengers has gotten really good, I'd totally recommend that you give it another shot. Plus, this past arc has been really Blue Marvel-centric.
