Zatanna,Firestorm and Green Lantern
Who are the 3 most powerful member of the Justice League
Wonder Woman definitely has to be in the top 3, she is already one of the top tiers in the DCnU when using restraint but as mentioned in her own title, she uses a mere fraction of her powers when she wears her bracers. Once removed she has the full potential of her godly powers.
I really do not understand how Flash can be in the top 3. My picks are;
- Superman
- Wonder Woman
- Martian Manhunter
The above mentioned 3 have physical powers, otherwise I would have included Green Lantern, but he is only has powerful as his imagination & his ring.
@sethysquare: Doctor Fate Superman green lantern DOctor fate is a lord of order and with the right host he can be unstopable
Green Lantern should be one of the more powerful members, but they job him out constantly.
I'd go with MMH, Shazam, Superman.
However, my favorites in the league are Green Lantern, MMH, and Shazam.
Members I've always found most powerful.
Captain Marvel/Shazam, Green Lantern, and the Flash.
Substitutes would be Captain Atom, Batman (Cuz he's the most well rounded and tactilely skilled), and Martian Manhunter.
Phantom Stranger, Spectre, and the last position can go to any of the following: Flash, Zatanna, Dr. Fate, Captain Atom, Superman, Icon, MM, Firestorm, etc
#1 The Flash
#2 Martian Man-Hunter
#3 Superman
Only because Batman is terrible, wonder woman should not be able to do anything that she does (doesn't follow physics) and aquaman is... aquaman...
If we are allowed to go by, most powerful characters that have been on the Justice League at one time or another;
1. Captain Atom (since the New 52 essentially made him close to omnipotent)
2. Firestorm (also close to being a deity, but hampered by inexperience and scope)
3. Martian Manhunter (he could drop nearly every other member of the League with a thought)
Honorable mentions: Hal Jordan when he was Spectre-fied (doesnt make the list since the Spectre is separate entity) and Plasticman (though he suffers in the cold quite badly).
Members of any incarnation of Justice League (including stuff like JL Dark and JL Extreme)
Pre Flashpoint
1) Phantom Stranger
2) Doctor Fate
3) Orion (or full god Mr Miracle)
followed by Superman, Zatanna, Lightray, Flash, GL, WW (when she was a godess)
also have to include Waterbearer + Poseidon's Trident Aquaman from the early 2000s
Post Flashpoint
1) Phantom Stranger
2) Superman
3) Martian Manhunter
If Swamp Thing counts post Flashpoint, he is also up there followed by WW, GL and Flash
I'd say Superman, Martian Manhunter, and Wonder Woman in that order.
- Superman
- The Flash
- Martian Manhunter
- Captain Marvel
- Wonder Woman
- Zatanna
- Green Lantern
- Aquaman
- Hawkman
Should mention that I know very very little about Captain Atom.
Martian Manhunter, Zatanna, Superman. Those three fill each others chinks in their chainmail; for example; Superman has a weakness to magic which Zatanna is able to use, Zatanna isn't quite as skilled at man to man combat like Superman and Martian Manhunter. Martian Manhunter is the glue that sticks the Justice League together and helps protect the team in full. [This is all pre 52 since I haven't picked up the 52 comics]
It's a tie for first between Flash and Martian Manhunter.
Third place is Hal Jordan, who at his strongest (canonically) is stronger than Superman's (canon) strongest.
Batman is easily the most dangerous, but he's most certainly not the most powerful lol.
Jmarshmallow
Martian Manhunter
Superman
Flash
Aquaman gets a honorable mention. Dude has control over all of Earths seas. Think about that for a moment.
Hard to say, "power" is so abstract here. It's not merely a measurement of force, but a measurement of varying factors as well.
Superman as we know is arguably the most "powerful" overall. Vast strength and resilience, super speed, augmented recuperation, enhanced stamina, flight, hurricane breath, heat vision, x-ray vision, telescopic vision. He can quite literally tank and smash through anything the others can't handle... or throw at him. You also know DC will always make him top dog; he's THE quintessential superhero, that's his shtick.
Batman's probably going to be #2, because he's Batman. Him and Superman are DC's posterboys. While he lacks powers, and his technology pales in comparison to Green Lantern's ring, he has the most training, skill, and education out of everyone in the league. He's a jack of all trades, except he's a master of them all. Criminology, psychology, forensics, computers, espionage, martial arts, stage magic, etc. Then there's his potentially unlimited resources, which extends from money, to contacts, to all of his gear and gadgets.
Wonder Woman is physically second to Superman, although she lacks some of his abilities such as super breath and energy projection, she makes up for it with superior training and skill which blurs the line with Batman. Extensive training in military combat and tactics, education in diplomacy and politics, etc. Then there is her magical equipment; her bracelets and lasso. She's possibly third, especially because she's the epitome of a female superhero.
Hard call between the others:
Martian Manhunter would be next. Telepathy, intangibility, shapeshifting, flight, and super strength. He's physically powerful enough to hold his own against the other powerhouses, but can also attack minds, pass through attacks or barriers, and increase his combat ability by reshaping his body to meet the situation. Also a skilled detective and has an advanced intellect.
Aquaman is a physically powerful individual that's close to Wonder Woman and also has similar training and education. While he lacks flight and super speed, he has some different tricks such as night vision, sonar, resistance to cold, superhuman equilibrium, limited telepathy, and can survive underwater.
Green Lantern can do practically anything with his ring and enough willpower/concentration: energy blasts, force fields, energy constructs, pseudo telekinesis, interplanetary travel, and life-support. The energy is highly malleable, which increases his already considerable versatility. Also has military training and is an ace pilot.
While I'm adding Flash last, I don't necessarily consider him the weakest, it's just really hard for me to gauge him. He doesn't have the impressive physical ability or training that the others do, but it's hard to hit him while it's easy for him to hit you... alot. He also has low-level superhuman endurance, so if you do succeed in hitting him, it won't hurt him as much as it would a normal person. He has range working against him, although he can throw small things at the opponent like a living machinegun. As you know too, his speed can add to the force and range of those objects. His speed also adds to the force of his punches for those that may overlook that. He also benefits from intangibility, also a very potent tool. He's trained in forensic sciences.
