Batson's Hellblazer Thread
A thread for discussing the series Hellblazer. Old and new. You know you want it. Hopefully this will get more than 10 different people.

Hah, she was only a kid during Delano's run. Didn't really do much anything :p
Hardly remember from Carey's run.

Spoiler for the as of yet uneducated cat's benefit.
@cattlebattle:
Pfff that would been more fitting if this was called the Constantine thread.
@Morpheus_:
At least she's getting used. I'm either hoping that she snaps out of it or becomes batsh!t crazy and becomes a new enemy of John. That would be fun since John could use more enemies.
Which reminds me that the First of Fallen is back so there's a reason to get caught up with the series.

@Billy Batson: With what happened in yesterday's issue, it looks like she's going the villain route.
So who else read the latest issue? Thought it was pretty cool myself.
And if anyone's interested, the new edition ofFear Machinecame out.

This thread is actually perfect. I've only just started reading Hellblazer and i'm currently on the Family Man (I've read everything preceding it including the annual). So anyway, i was hoping that i good get a few suggestions about good arc's that i should read first.

Pretty much everything is worth a read except for Denise Mina's run, issues #216-228.
For long runs go with Delano's, Ennis', Azzarello's, Carey's and Milligan's runs.
Diggle's and Ellis' short runs were also great.

@spiderbat87:
you can read the latest issue if you want since it isn't related to the past story arc.
and since you use comixology, they've been putting old and new issues out.

I will gladly accept it when it actually happens.@Morpheus_: you're the one with the rose-colored glasses here, living in the past old man, accept that someone can do better then the guy who came first and you'll find that every so often someone does
And being technical, Ennis outdid the guy who came first. Burn.
A broad generalization does not correspond to every case - as you well know. Case in point, I don't care much about Delano's work on Constantine. It's important and highly influential, yet contrived and flat out boring.@Morpheus_ said:

And being technical, Ennis outdid the guy who came first. Burn.I knew you were going to mention that but my point remains valid, it happens in any medium, everyone likes the earlier guy but never the first because the first person had to break the ground for the next guy to be the first to produce a crop and once one guy does it, everyone after them will be second best
anyways, Milligan's run is better, it's a simple fact and I don't wish to embarrass you for having an opinion but I think you'll always be stuck on Ennis because he's the most recent Hellblazer you knew for too long and you ended up comparing everything to him
Nah, you embarrass yourself already by thinking your opinion is fact. When we already know that only applies to my own. :P
I'm not sure what I think about last issue yet tbh@aztek_the_lost:
have you read the latest issue yet?
