"Weight distribution"

Alright, so in Carnage USA, James says that the Agony symbiote transfers the weight of the rail gun directly to the ground. Now, ok I can accept this, but how does that work. The symbiote has super strength, so carrying the gun is no problem for me to accept, however Agony only covers his arm(s), and not his legs, so how is does the weight transfer to the ground?
