@spideysense44: I may decide to pick up again since New Warriors has ended and I have a space open in my pulls list.

@humanrocket: I think, rather than have a fill in artist like many other series when the regular artist needs a month or so to catch up, they decided to just do a mini-hiatus. I'd much rather that. It's what Image does as well.

I dropped this series after last issue. I found it to be all over the place and didn't enjoy it. I hope everyone else enjoys it though; it may have just been me.

My only real problem is that it seems like the aim is to take out the "Kung fu" from Iron fist and homogenize him so that he is just like every other fighter in the Marvel U (an MMA brawler). One of the lines said in the first few comics was from Brenda that Kung fu is a joke (or something similar). Kind of a shame that Mr Andrews seems to have this feeling. Plus with any research at all it can be seen that real kung fu (Wushu) from anywhere before the Shang dynasty through to the Qin empire and up to roughly the adoption of firearms was ruthless and had none of these "forbidden" techniques or rules we like to pretend they did. The purpose was not the silly spiritual or self improvement thing they've become today but a system tried and tested (in actual war) to kill your opponent with the least effort possible. Yes the training forms are stylized but actual fighting was always understood to be much dirtier and brutal. Under this assumption Kun'luns best fighter would be a really efficient killer not some naive "traditionalist".

All my bitching aside I've enjoyed the series greatly so far and will likely still enjoy it but I'm just a little worried he's just going to be a bit more bland and with the weapons adoption lose part of what has been appealing about him since his inception. Props to Kaare Andrews however for a really great character study regardless of whatever direction he chooses to go with Mr Fist.

Never was a fan of Iron Fist but that first cover drew me in, glad it did. Hope enough copies are sold to keep it going past twelve issues.

it seems more like if a book's late because of the art, it's usually worth the wait.

I don't mind when books switch artists from arc to arc to avoid delays either (rather than random fill-ins to stay on schedule), but if the art's part of what I like, I don't mind waiting either.

So, would this be a good issue to jump onto this book?
