Power Man and Iron Fist Series Coming to Marvel

When was the last time Luke Cage and Daniel Rand teamed up? Luke Cage has taken on different roles recently and is currently married to Jessica Jones and they have a daughter, Dani. Iron Fist had a pretty crazy series recently courtesy of Kaare Andrews. The two have worked together but haven't officially be "Power Man and Iron Fist" in a little while. All that is going to change.

Marvel has announced, via Fast Company, that the two former Heroes for Hire will return, together, in a new series. This could explain why both were absent during the All-New, All-Different Marvel promo images.

David Walker (CYBORG, SHAFT) will be writing the series with Sanford Greene (RUNAWAYS, UNCANNY AVENGERS) taking on the art. 

Walker mentioned Axel Alonso asked him what characters he'd most be interested in and the two together were at the top of his list. He referred to them as "The ultimate bromantic couple."

Greene resisted the urge to try to bring back the tiara for Cage when he provided character sketches.

Marvel editor Jacob Thomas stated the two creators will be bringing in their own style along with some old school enemies such as Tombstone and Black Mariah.

POWER MAN AND IRON FIST is scheduled for early 2016.

Can't say I'm digging the art.

the art reminds me of something from the peanuts. you're going to bring back a classic like power-man and that's the best you can do? seriously???

The art is terrible, Danny looks like a hobo. But, the art may improve once it's actually fleshed out.

Yeah I'm going to have to agree with everyone else, the art doesn't sell me. Luke Cage looks like Barracuda from Ennis's Punisher run more than Luke Cage.

I like the concept but I dont like the art style and Iron Fist looks alike Shaggy (from Scooby Doo) is the new Iron Fist. Also Iron Fist buys his costume as MCU Quicksilver.

People hating on the art, but I like it. Little goofy but looks fun.

I actually like the art style, its very... 80-90s hiphop? and if this has a more "street feel" to the comic I think it can play really well. I am actually excited for a marvel book... the indie nerd in me is cringing

I would prefer a more serious approach.

I'll wait until I see some pages, but definitely pass due to art based on what I see so far.

Luke is sexy with a beard.

They bring back the greatest bromance buddy cop team of all time, which is awesome, but they give it truly (in my opinion) awful art. This will be a true test of can I slog through bad art for a team I love. Also I'll be severely disappointed if they A) don't play pinball and B) every comic doesn't end with them eating pizza

Marvel is unstoppable, at least in the amount of books they are putting out.

Hmm.. like the idea but the art is not sucking me in. Reminds me of some other upoming book, which one it is escapes me, that has an all-ages visual look, but isn't actually targeted that way. But, the book could be different, this is just sketches.

Personally I love the art and like how they are keeping the same basic outfit that Kaare Andrews gave Iron Fist on his last series. People can hate on this all they want but I am buying this (hope the writing is good).

The Art will take a bit to get used to but I've wanted to see these two together again for a while now.

I'll read, but not thrilled at the Iron Fist design. I'm OK with the inverted Bruce Lee colors, but I don't like the collar on that costume. Also he looks like Shaggy from Scooby-Doo... Or a hobo.

Looks good, i'll definitely check it out; hopefully its better than the last Iron Fist ongoing. I dropped pretty fast.

Luke is awesome, but Danny looks horrible.

If it's not conventional superhero art people will riot. This is a rock solid creative team.

66 All New titles so far. This is just like the New 52, throw everything on the wall and see what sticks.

@feartheliving: I get what you are saying art is very subjective just like we have here I love the art but others don't doesn't make it bad necessarily just different strokes for different folks

Interesting art, can't say good or bad, just different and not what I'm used to for these characters. I'd like to see how the art plays out in context with the series and the tone, whether it works for it or not. It may actually be well suited for the direction they're going for. Also, has Luke Cage been going by Power Man again? I thought there was already a new Power Man, or at least someone else using the name. Of course they can have more than one use the name at once (Spider-man for example), just a surprise to me.

I want to know how marvel is going to write their way out of this secret wars mess and how everything will be changed. Are the past 5 years scrubbed? Does Luke Cage still have a wife and child? Is he still an avenger?

I like the art. Also it's funny but that look for Iron Fist was actually created by David Aja for his Immortal Iron Fist book, but wasn't used unitl Kaare Andrews' run. I really like that Luke Cage has a professional or Mob look to him instead of "Street." Seeing him lose it cause his new suit got cut will be a hoot!

I like the form of the art but not faces, I'm not sure how to explain it. I think the body's and movement look good, but the facial expressions don't look good

That artwork is still absolutely terrible.

I'll still probably get the book just because I love these two together, but it's gonna be hard to get past that art.

This is the best news all day! Finally a direction for Iron Fist and Cage!

I enjoyed the 13-part Andrews Iron Fist, and though the art takes a lot of getting used to, I like the stylized approach to the Heroes for Hire.

This one is on my must read list for the New Marvel books. They are finally starting to announce stuff I'm excited for!

Cool character and nice to see them getting a book. With that said the art is cartoony to a fault also when did Luke ever look like Sug Knight?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the art. You guys just don't like the style.

I don't see a single piece of interior art here, and people are whining about the art. I'll read the first issue and then pass my judgement.
