Hal Jordan Gets a New Look Post-Convergence

Things are getting shaken up a little bit in the post-Convergence world thus far. Superman is getting a new look. Wonder Woman is getting a new look. Those who read GREEN LANTERN #40 know that Hal also got a bit of a new look, but this June, it's getting changed even more.

Uproxx had the solicit for the next installment of GREEN LANTERN:

“Renegade!” Beginning a new chapter in Hal Jordan’s life as he becomes the universe’s most wanted outlaw! And wait till you meet Hal’s new partner, Darlene. She’s definitely not what you’re expecting!

A few spoilers ahead, but in issue #40 of GL, Hal steals the lantern gauntlets from Mogo and beats the heck out of Kilowog. He leaves, but this is the moment that makes him the Renegade and the new look matches it.

What do you think about Hal's new look?

Can't wait to see how awful flash looks when they reveal him tomorrow. I get what DC is trying to go giving their heroes like more practical/realistic outfits finally, but i think they are kinda over doing it a bit.

I feel like Green Lantern books have really fallen off lately

and still Geoff Johns ignores all of this in his current JL new run, loving Geoff

Because every supercharged Green Lantern manifests a poncho for those solar storms.

That flash cover is actually just a concept design not the actual costume he will have.

The cloak is an odd touch. Reminds me of Hal being the Spectre, as well as the Hal counterpart in Justice League 3000.

Is that the same Glove-weapon he just used in the latest issue of GL? If so, can someone who read it give me some insight as to what that glove is and what it's for and why he used it again't Kilowag? (I know I spelt his name wrong)

It looks col, and a bit of change could be very interesting for GL, but at the same time he's been through a lot of tragedy, I feel like now it's time for triumph.

You can probably just jump on when this issue hits. Or just start from issue 38 to see how he gets here.

@patrickborkland: It's Krona's Gauntlet, basically a weapon full of Lantern energy, like a super ring.

Looks good to me. Then again, I don't really care if a costume is changed, as long as the story is good.

@captainmarvel4ever: so pretty much anyone can use it, right? Not just someone chosen by the ring? So maybe Hal loses his ring from being an outlaw or "renegade" and so he has to use this gauntlet

That and probably business wise DC wants to get Hal Jordan back in the original team post convergence to have the original roster back.

Im okay with that I like having the original JL roster back in tact

and I like that John Stewart is now the front runner to lead the Green Lantern Corps. and now that Van Jensen finally solved that lame Xanshi depression Johns been going through for the past 2 decades lol

he will be a solid leader for the Corps.

Gauntlet. Kronas gauntlet. because he gave up his ring and is now a fugitive from the GL Corps.

@captainmarvel4ever: I was thinking that the reason the GL's disappear from this universe is actually the Guardians doing. Like say let the universe see how they get along without them. So when they finally come back they will be welcoming.
