By now you're probably aware of the release date for Guardians of the Galaxy on Blu-ray and home video. Disney and Marvel Studios has released a trailer for the release along with some information on what else you'll get besides the movie.

Release Date:

11/18 for Digital 3D and Digital HD

12/9 Digital SD, 3D Blu-ray Combo pack (3D Blu-ray + Single Disc Blu-ray + Digital Copy), Blu-ray, DVD and On-Demand

I don't like how Disney/Marvel has been keeping the digital copy reserved for the most expensive bundle - the one with 3D Blu Rays. Thats such a small segment of users versus regular 2D TV's sold. Money mongering at this point.

It does, however, give them this big status as a brand. You'll see Disney movies all have upper-tier price tags versus other studios because of their well-appealing content. Kind of cruddy considering you can get the Dark Knight Trilogy or X-Men movies for under $20 consistently, or apparently under $11 this holiday season.

it's also in the Blu-ray bundle and there are a ton of people who have made the switch to blu-ray

So is the only way to get both the Blu Ray and DVD together is getting the 3D combo pack? I need to get a HD TV for my room quick

I expect I'll do what I always do. Plan to get it on Blu-Ray day one, but end up giving in and buying it digitally on the Xbox Movie Store the exact minute it goes up for sale. Then get the Blu-Ray.
