My thoughts on Goku's new form (Super Saiyan God)

It has been confirmed that Goku will acend to a form known as Super Saiyan God in the upcoming film DBZ God in Battle of Gods.

Goku's a god now. It's official. (the pic isn't offical though)

I think this ends DBZ. The whole point of Dragon Ball/ DBZ is the quest to be the strongest of all. Goku training to be the best, Vegeta trying to outclass Goku and claim his rightful place as king, and all the others training constantly to fight alongside them. All the villains are trying to become immortal, or perfect, or take over the world.

If this is Goku's final form then his quest is over.

This guy also seems like the final boss of the DBZ verse. The god of destruction.

So our hero is finally at his best and his foe is the strongest he'll ever face. All others are seen being beaten by Bills in the trailer so everyone else is now below Goku and Bills.

I'm glad we will now have a limit for Goku. He's always seemed limitless but now he is finally the most powerful warrior in the universe.

Or is he?

He is going to use it to beat Bills , who was able to stop ssj3 Goku with one finger . It has to be insanely stronger than SSJ3

I'm guessing that it will be a one off transformation...much like a few of the events of other movies....like when King Kai said that he went SS against Slugg or the Dragonfist

I don't think it will . It doesn't seem like it would be a transformation he can only use for that instance .

Well remember GT was total BS it wasnt directed nor had anything to do with Akira Toriyama the series creator other than giving his blessing for them to make it. Almost all the fights seemed scaled down compared to DragonBall Z, and the "Universal" Spirit Bomb was no bigger than the Earth Spirit Bomb at the end of Z it shouldve been huge. GT was a dissapointment I consider whatever this movie brings to the table weather it be better or worse official cannon. I did like the Super 17 saga though but thats probably because it had so many villians from Z in it, but it still was rather ho-hum, and SSJ4 Gogeta the supreme being of the GTverse didnt seem dramatically more powerful than Vegeto. I dunno sorry to rant, i just cant wait to see what this movie brings to the table and if it is a SIGNIFICANT upgrade in power I say re-open the Superman vs Goku debate.

I always considered Vegeto to be more powerful than Gogeta anyway since Vegeto was a perfect fusion and Gogeta was just the fusion dance

I think the idea of a SSJ God is two things.

1. Unoriginal as it looks almost identical to SSJ4. Might as well just call it that. I like the red better than the gold anyway

2. Extremely arrogant.

@Racob7: I read some spoilers, he does not achieve this form all by himself. He will need the help of Gohan, Vegeta, Trunks, Goten and Vidal's unborn baby Pan. This form can't be kept up for long either as it drains a massive amount of Ki.

So is Goku's quest over? Not really.

Goku summons Shenlong to ask how to reach the Super Saiyan God. A Super Saiyan God once appeared on planet Vegeta to stop evil Saiyans, but he failed because of the form's time limit. The dragon also reveals that they need the power of six pure-hearted Saiyans for one of them to reach the Super Saiyan God form. Goku transforms into a Super Saiyan God, a form beyond even Super Saiyan 3, thanks to the power of himself, Vegeta, Gohan, Trunks, Goten, and Pan (from inside her mother Videl), fulfilling the prophecy once stated by the Oracle Fish. Goku confronts Birus again and they wage an intense battle in space, right above planet Earth. The form gives Goku the power to resist Birus, but he reverts to his regular Super Saiyan form due to the form's time limit. However, he learns the form's godlike feeling, which allows him to use Super Saiyan God's power against Birus. The two seem to be equally strong, but Birus eventually wins when he uses his strongest attack. Goku stops the energy sphere, barely holding it back, and the screen suddenly blacks out. Birus reveals that Uis is his martial arts master and is even stronger than him. He also says that there are twelve universes and the one Goku and his friends know is just one of them, the Seventh Universe. Birus is the God of Destruction of the Seventh Universe, with each universe having its own God of Destruction. After returning to the temple, Uis knocks Birus out and remarks that Birus will wake up again in three years.

I would like it if they threw away the super sayein thing and just call it kaiyoken form. I had hope that it is not the race ability again but the blessing from the Kais. I had blog about dethroning the overhype that is of the super saiyen forms.

Well now we know who the most powerful guy is, the one who uses gods as pets and slaps them to sleep if they don't behave.

I heard recently that SSG wasn't a new transformation. It was a power up that took Goku to god levels. Which is why in the film even when the god form fades away and Goku goes SS he still Hangs with Beerus. Idk is this is true but it'd make sense.
