@Sidney: It is definitely a good pic. Magneto is by far my favorite Ultimate Universe villain and second favorite overall character and the pic makes him look insanely cool ad imposing, but the arc it represents destroyed the Ultimate Universe.

Superman picked up the car only to have Captain Marvel yank it away and pitch it in a boastful protest.
That's what I think everytime I see this.

Magneto to me is like an anti hero who wanted to make the world a better place like Superman but was going about it the wrong way.

In the Ultimate Universe he is not an anti hero. He is a madman.

I agree with Morpheus_. Magneto is as evil as you get in UM. It's slightly ironic actually.  In 616 Magneto suffered through the Holocaust and in 1610, Magneto is trying to destroy all humans like Hitler did to Mags and the Jews in 616.

Agreed. He is responsible for the death of millions, and even from his early appearances, it was evident that he was up to no good. He tried to murder the president of the US, while it was revealed that it was he who caused Xavier's paralysis, and of course his ultimate death. His quote, "When God didn't like what he created, he washed the Earth for fourty days and nights. I will do it in three", may sound empowering, but is in truth a testament, of his insanity and megalomania.

What happened to him just wanting to make the world a better place and leading the X-Men?

In the UU, his only desire was to rule the world, upon destroying the human race, in addition to all the mutants who oppose him. In the original 616 timeline, Magneto is a favourite of mine.

So this is a reinvention of him? Cause in the original X-Men comic books he was just misunderstood and wanted to make the world a better place and eventually became leader of the X-Men when Professor X died.

@Sidney: The entire Ultimate Universe is a exactly that: a more modern reinvention of classic characters. In some cases (Ultimate Spider-man) it works miracles, in others (X-Men), it is OK, but as you can see, for Magneto, it worked for the worst...by far.

Agreed. Magneto do not care for taking over the world he just wants to make it better have humans respect mutants.

And i saw Ultimate Spiderman tv show it was good. I have toa dmit that love the costume and everything and the whole second world thing.

So is their a ultimate Punisher and is his story different too?

The TV show had nothing to do with the comic book - no second world or different costume in this - Spidey is just 15 years old, and still in high school through the whole run. As for Punisher, I don't I vaguely remember him - he must have appeared in a U Marvel team Up, but I don't remember any specifics about his origin.

If they wanted a representative pose of the destroyed Ultimate Universe, why didn't they just put a photograph of Jeph Loeb on the cover?

@Morpheus_: That is definitely a good choice. They could have him with his foot on top of the UM earth with him ripping to shreds every comic made with the UM in it.

@Ben Doverand Taykit: The Ultimate U was something I enjoyed reading; since they wanted to cancel all the titles (except U Spider-man) there was no need for such a catastrophe of a series (Ultimatum). And it all started by the nonsensical Ultimates vol 3. And to think, I recently read Long Halloween for the first time. It was an excellent read, with the exception of the ending. It was very well structured, step by step. How did Loeb managed to write something like that, and now he comes up with disjointed messes like  Rulk, Ultimates 3 & Ultimatum is a mystery...

And UU Spiderman was better then the original comics? Also the tv show was awesome! How you 15 years old fighting crime lol. Oh well comic books. He was 15 throughtout the whole run? Damn!

@Sidney: I wouldn't compare it to the originals - I prefer to look upon it as a standalone story, with its roots coming from the original, but the result being different. As for being 15 and trying to fight crime, that is one major theme throughout the series. And he wasn't 15 for the whole run; I think he turned sixteen(...) around issue 100.

Oh okay. Seems too much for a 15 year old to fight crime alone against super villians.
