I'm seeing a lot of good issues like Uncanny 147 and Superman Annual 11 but iconic?  Really?  I bet you half of comic book readers out there have never seen either of those images once.

And shame shame at the guy above me.  Endsong was a terrible story and Greg Land is a terrible artist.  And I use the word "artist" very loosely.  If you want an iconic Phoenix image, why didn't you go with one of these?

@Zoom: I like his art(when he isn't obviously recycling/tracing someone else). Also I chose the second image I posted because it is the first image I think of when I think of Dark Phoenix(in addition to the last pic you posted)

Iconic to me would be the covers of Watchmen, The Dark Knight Returns and the Death of Superman

Good thing its just in your opinion because greg did an excellent job on that picture and on captivating the passion in the picture where as she looks like she is just bathing in it like the weather goddess she is hun...XDD

I agree 100% with this one. Good ole' Cap punching Nazi tyrant Adolf Hitler?..... Best image ever for comic books. Especially because it fit the time period perfect. WW2 was going on, you stop by your local comic book shop and see a red white blue cladded super hero punching Hitler? That's a buy. Cap is the true hero.

Plus this was a year or two before america entered the war and it was created by two jewish teens in the states which makes it iconic on so many levels

I dunno, it's a tough one, especially considering the political nonsense about not bringing him back...yet he always seems to be a current topic even 28 years later...

Really? Black Lightning is my second favorite superhero and this comic happens to be one of my personal favorite. Not to mention he was the first African American superhero to get his own running series, so I would say that this is iconic. That may be your opinion, but that doesn't make it fact.

That is your opinion, not a fact. I personally don't like most of those, doesn't mean they aren't good heros.

The beginning of something that not only makes me gag and fills me with dread but also the end of something that was actually pretty okay. Most may not like it but it represents an event that f@cked up ,arguably, the second most read-about Universe in the Marvel Multiverse which makes this image important.

The one where Flash save 100+ thousand people in 5 seconds i think, it's not really a cover, but it was so badass.

Nobody cares about Wasp.

There was even a thread here that was like "Hey does anybody care about Wasp and Yellowjacket" and everybody was pretty much like "Nope" although there were a few people who were like "I like them okay."

I mean really.  Have you ever heard Wasp mentioned and then somebody else was like "I freaking love Wasp" or "Wasp!  Good character?"  No, of course you haven't, which brings me back to my point.

Nobody cares about Wasp.

Everyone I know that likes Electra likes her as a supporting character for Daredevil except for my old roommate's little sister who has such bad taste she liked the Elektra movie.
