So according to DC's most recent solicits not only is Geoff Johns walking way from Green Lantern, but Tomasi, Bedard and Milligan are off their lantern books too. Who do you think will replace them?

I feel sorry for whoever gets to deal with that series now.

It'd be interesting if they brought Grant Morrison on to do it.

I have a feeling maybe we'll see James Robinson or Josh Fialkov. They're both under utilized.

#6 Posted by TurianAgent (60 posts) - - Show Bio

Josh Fialkov, Matt Kindt, Robert Venditti and Justin Jordan should be great picks.

#7 Posted by The_Tree (7737 posts) - - Show Bio

James Robinson, Joshua Hale Fialkov, and Justin Jordan are all great picks that I wouldn't mind seeing. And they seem like plausible choices.

Even though it's pretty unlikely, I'd like to see Lemire and Azzarello on Green Lantern books.

I really have no idea. I'd love to see Azzarello do one, but other than that, I'm clueless.

Gail Simone

I'd love to see Azzarelo, Justin Jordan or Mark Waid to it. Though Waid is incredibly unlikely.

Fialkov seems like a choice when he said he has a few projects over at DC on twitter. That, and he has the same editors who work with Green Lantern.
They might need some big names to follow up Johns' run though.

Very. He's not going to be working with DC anytime soon, or at all.

I would like to see Justin Jordan but I guess it will be Fialkov.

Joshua Fialkov would be great on GL

Jason Aaron would be Perfect for GLC, but realistically it might end up being Justin Jordan or Matt Kindt

Red Lanterns might be more into Justin Jordan's type of book but who knows

New Guardians, no idea

#14 Posted by longbowhunter (7328 posts) - - Show Bio

Fialkov has shown in Elk's Run he does well with young characters. I think he'd be a good fit for Kyle. Frankenstein and Revolver are the only things I've read by Matt Kindt. Don't know which title he'd be best suited for.

If James Robinson or Grant Morrison takes over for Geoff Johns, I will definitely continue to buy Green Lantern. Otherwise, I'm on the fence as to whether or not May's issue will be my last.

Alex Ross & Mark Waid would be cool imo, but dought they would get those 2 on board.

Grant won't be joining Green Lantern and i doubt James can handle another book.

@Billy Batson: What is the bad blood between Waid and DC?

These sound like the most plausible choices for me as well. And what is the bad blood between Waid and DC BB?

@JamesKM716: @Lvenger:

Waid's been badmouthing DC/Harras for quite some time now.
They didn't let him modern continuity Superman but then he came back from Marvel after being treated poorly over there. Then he started hating Didiot more and more even though Dan still liked Waid and possibly offered him Superman and Cry for Justice. They even tried to get him as editor-in-chief.
So yeah.

Sounds abit of a jerk then? Thought he was going to be doing loads for Marvel?

@Chaos Prime:

He's writing for Marvel now. He's doing Daredevil and Hulk.

I could see Nathan Edmunson or possibly Justin Jordan.

Justin Jordan would be cool he also could do with abit luck from DC.

Paul Cornell, maybe?

#30 Posted by Lvenger (20777 posts) - - Show Bio

@Billy Batson: Damn that would have been something for Waid to be in charge of DC. And clearly after being trated badly at Marvel one time, he must be getting plenty of $$$ to be writing Daredevil and Indestructible Hulk.

@modunhanul: He's at Marvel now writing a new Wolverine series.

@Lvenger: Oh, really? Then never mind.

By the way, I've heard Josh Fialkov will do Green Lantern, Robert Venditti will do GL Corps, Justin Jordan will do New Guardians and Kieth Giffen will do Red Lanterns.

I read a similar article on Bleeding Cool. It said that Tomasi would take over Green Lantern, Fialkov takes over Green Lantern Corps and Red Lanterns, Jordan or Venditti take over Green Lantern: New Guardians, and then Giffen's Threshold would be considered a Lantern book. Rumors are rumors for now, but I don't mind this at all.

#35 Posted by Lvenger (20777 posts) - - Show Bio

@modunhanul: @The_Tree: Both interesting rumours. I wouldn't mind Fialkov or Tomasi on Green Lantern seeing as how both are excellent writers.

#36 Posted by impossibilly (892 posts) - - Show Bio

According to CBR, Robert Venditti is taking over Green Lantern with Billy Tan, Josh Fialkov will be writing both Green Lantern Corps (Bernard Chang on art) and Red Lanterns (Alessandro Vitti on art), and Justin Jordan will take over New Guardians (Brad Walker on art).

I only currently buy Green Lantern out of these, but I'll be dropping it when Johns and Mahnke leave. Robert Venditti may be a good writer, but I never enjoy Billy Tan's art.

Larfleeze will be getting his own title by Giffen and Kollins. I may move my $3 from Green Lantern each month into that title instead.
