Halo
Mass Effect (Minus the ME3 ending)
Gears of War

They've got guns, they're fun, and they all have interesting stories.

I hear that! That is why I love Sci-Fi over medieval for example.

I meant to put Mass Effect there, but I forgot. That game is amazing.

Here is another one that I love:

@Twentyfive: Yeah, I really loved Fallout 3, I couldn't put it down for weeks when I got the game. My favorite side mission of it will always be the one where you meet the guy that got fused to a tree.

Metroid and Mass Effect.

Would Mirror's Edge count as Sci-Fi? It's a dystopian alternate near-future, so maybe.

What, no love for Starcraft?

Call Of Duty.

LOL joke. but Black Ops too is getting close to sci fi, so who knows?

Does HomeFront count? it's near future and a bit techy, but I guess not. I really liked a MMOFPS that I totally forgot the name but it involved space colonization and shooting aliens in the face (now that I said that, that applies for most sci fi games)

Star Wars games are always fun but that's kinda cheating because it's based on the franchise (although the franchise is SCI FI, it feels like cheating)

other than that, there's not much, Im more of a past history games kinda guy (no fantasy though)

@Eternal19: I remember the first one. That game was awesome. I may peep the second one out.

@AtPhantom: I forgot about that game. I am not that big on the game, but my friend in Jersey spent hundred of hours on it this past summer. I do watch the game events pretty often. It gets pretty intense like 10 mins into a match, especially if the skill level is high.

@Twentyfive: I was never really any good at it, but I still grew up with that. Apart from it Mass effect and Crysis are likely my favorites.

Also Assassin's Creed, but let's face it, the sci fi elements are just an excuse to jump around in the past.

I'll rank them as franchises. My Top Ten:

1. MGS Series

2. Knights of the Old Republic Series (SWOR included)

3. Mass Effect Trilogy tied with Final Fantasy series, although I think the latter is only quasi-Scifi

4. Star Ocean Series tied with Chrono Series (again I think the latter is quasi-Scifi)

5. Resistance Series

6. Gears of War Series

7. Killzone Series & Halo series tied. Yeah fanboys of either side will kill me.

8. Fallout Series

9. Starcraft Series tied with CnC Series

10. WIng Commander Series (including Starlancer and Freelancer)
