Caped Crusader. It just sounds fun, and evokes in me mental images of a globe-trotting, blue-cowled Batman.

The Bat-Man. I love the idea of crooks and thugs running away when they hear that name, imagining the most terrifying of all monsters.

As to "The world's biggest detective", I have a question: I have seen Bruce over-analyzing and over-thinking during battle, I also know he's been the quickest to find out several secret identities, but is he really a Sherlock Holmes kind of investigator? Gathering clues and evidence and coming to logical conclusions?

@surfingthehighway: Depends on the writer. It's usually feels like something that's glossed over in most cases, unfortunately.

For me it's 'The Bat-Man'. It made him seem more like a mythical creature running around Gotham and terrorizing bad guys with superpowers.

It's a shame, really. I'm very interested in that aspect of him... I remember it being a very small part of the Knightfall arc, when all foes broke loose from Arkham Assylum, but that's about it. Admitedly I haven't read a lot of Batman Issues from the 00's onwards.

I personally like Bats. I'm not sure why, I just like the way it sounds.

I like "The Bat". Whenever I read it in comics or hear it in the games it reminds me that as the reader we know he's human but to the villains of Gotham it's like some believe him to be supernatural. By leaving out the "man" it's like making him something more than human. I may be looking into that nickname too much but that's why I love "The Bat" so much.

The Dark Knight just has a cool ring to it.
