That is my opinion.
Am I alone with it?
1) The last episode of the first season ruined nearly everything for me with the terribad ending. All of the young heroes started kissing around and it felt sooo forced. I can get behind Superboy kissing Miss Martian, since they kinda had an relationship going, but Kid Flash and Artemis? He was into Miss Martian the entire time and it looked like Artemis was jealous the entire time and in the end they both start kissing without any chemical romance before? It looked like Kid Flash took the next best thing and that Artemis didn't give a damn about that.
The two black characters (sorry, I don't even know who they are started kissing around, simply because they were there. That felt really, really stupid.
I know that Grayson is a womanizer, but come on? Without any reason Zatanna starts making out with him? Get off!
Was that it or did even more unrelated people kiss around? Wasn't there a bromance between Captain Marvel and Wolf?
The ending of that episode was so pathetic and badly written. It felt like a fat chick was writing it and when a fat chick writes something, you get something like Twilight. Btw, the ending of the first episode has still better lovestories than Twilight and no, I'm not making this entire topic, just to come up with that one :-P
I have more to bitch about.
2) I'm not sure if any writer has any clue where they're heading with the plot. I enjoy shows where you get a new adventure in every new episode, because most of the prior stuff gets resettet.
In Young Justice though, they're following one plot. Or better say 10-20 plots. They're trying to make it so intrigueing that they overdid it in my opinions. There are 30 sub-plots and I think one main-plot and it's really hard to keep track who is doing what and why, especially if you take into consideration that the episodes don't come on a regular basis, but with short breaks here and there.
3) Half of the characters are depressed. They're like really depressed all the time and have the weight of the world on their shoulders. When you combine young characters with such an simplistic, coloful artstyle and then also give them lovesickness, family issues, identity crises and so on it kinda becomes even more stupid. At least in my opinion.
4) I HATE Artemis' voice actor. To me she sounds like a porn star who is trying to act. She sounds really annoying. Like she is trying way too hard, when she gets all serious'd and stuff like that. That's the character I hate the most in the show.
5) The change from season 1 to season 2 was way too huge, without any real explanation. In most cases that maybe wouldn't be that much of a problem, but season 1 left so many questions open that season 2 with all the new drama, the new characters and so on confused me even more. And I'm 25 years old. And I wouldn't consider myself a stupid person. I really don't know how a 16 year old stupid person would think about this show.
I'm not a fan.
But what's the alternative? Ultimate Spider-Man? It has charme, but in the end of the day it's even worse than Young Justice.
I really, really liked Spectacular Spider-Man though. The fights there was over the top. Best fights I've seen so far in an animated superhero show. Yeah, the artstyle was in the need of getting used to, but still... I enjoyed it.
Young Justice = Terrible Show
I liked the show right up to the point where it became abundantly clear that season 2 was ripping off plots from JLU and Reach soda, seriously? Alien invasion by soda is a god damned Johnny Test level plot.
i think its a great show , and im not the least bit confused on plot . it entertains and im okay with that. i like the abundunce of characters shown and while they are somewhat dragging their feet with the overall story it has me excited to see what comes up next , my only complaint is too many comercials make the show feel like its only on for 15 min lol.i do agree that ultimate spider-man is just ...bad . lol
I like the show for the most part, and Chibio you have to remember that Kid Flash x Artemis was actually hinted at since at least the 4th episode.
I do have problems with season 2 so far though. While the expanded cast of characters is pretty good, there are actually too many of them. 90% of new characters have gotten less than 5 min speaking time.
The plot is getting a little thinned out too. The writers have taken far too long in getting to whats going on with Bats,Supes,WW, GL, and the rest off world. With all this focus on the new Reach, the whole big bad light thing has really been sidelined. And are we to expect that the light didn't do a darned thing for 5 years between seasons 1&2?!?
I still really like the show, but I admit that if they don't stop combining these three plot threads soon I'm gonna start losing interest.
artemis and kid flash were hiding their feelings by fighting its still better thaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnn ughhhhhhhhhhh ultimate spiderman and i agree spectacular spiderman is awesomest show ever then young justice
1. the last episode of the first season took place on New Years Eve and all Aqualad and Rocket did was kiss once for New Years....Robin and Zatanna was hinted at a little throughout the season as they flirted with each other whenever she was around....Artemis and Kid Flash had been building the entire season
2. that's pretty much just personal preference....but there really isn't all that many plots going on...the main plot is the Reach and the Light working together....everything else is just a subplot...I personally enjoy a series with an overarching plot more than a one and done episode series...a one and done for me offers no investment...if you miss an episode then who cares the next episode won't reference it anyway and that means character development is at a minimum
3. some of the characters are like that yes but then you have Impulse who is meant to be something like a comedic relief....but you also have to realize that unlike the first season these characters do have the weight of the world on their shoulders...the majority of the Justice League is off in space leaving the team to deal with the Light and an alien invasion
4. personal opinion
5. I wasn't a big fan of the time jump either but it did give the opportunity to add new backstories to the cast that the writers can reveal at later points in the season....I still would have rather seen the characters grow to the point they are now though
The shows good but people (mostly on the internet and message boards) greatly overrate it.
Overall it does several things well, but I think it could do some things better.
The show imo tries to do too much and hurts itself in areas of plot and character development. Justice League in part because it was built on several other cartoon shows did a great job of character development even when it expanded into JLU.
I think if the show narrowed its focus a little bit it would be stronger
Artemis and Kid Flash had been building for the entire season, in no way did it just come out of the blue. And the "New Year's Kiss" is a pretty common tradition, that was the reason for all the kissing, although I'll admit that scene was a bit... well, dumb.
I love the plot, shows with "one and done" type episodes get boring in my opinion. I love over-arching plotlines, and while there are quite a few subplots, I feel like its being handled pretty well.
They did go a bit overboard with the new characters post-timeskip, but for the most part have done a decent job developing all of them (there are exceptions of course, such as Tim and Batgirl)
If you were a teen hero dealing with everything they're dealing with, wouldn't you have a bit of emotional baggage? And there are still plenty of happy characters to balance it out, like Impulse for example.
And I personally love Aretemis's voice, but that's completely personal preference anyway.
I'm not saying the show is perfect, it has plenty of flaws (Reach Soda? Ugh) but overall, I love it.
is it a bad show ? NO
could it be better? YES
do i look forward to any other show on saturday? NO(maybe TMNT or GTAS)
Part of the reason you don't like the show is because you don't like a voice casting, characters kissing and a romance that was pretty well-established? Really?
Pretty well-established? No offense, but if you really think so, then you have very low standards.Part of the reason you don't like the show is because you don't like a voice casting, characters kissing and a romance that was pretty well-established? Really?
There was no establishment what so ever. Rewatch the first season and you will see Wally trying to land by Miss Martian until the last few episodes. Only in the last minute of the last episode he realizes that he loves Artemis and that he wants to put his tounge into her mouth.
I know that it was the Christmas Eve episode, but they were kissing for waaay too long. The camera started zooming out and fading black, yet they didn't stop. Everyone was making out, without any development before.
The voice actor of Artemis is the only one I don't like. She is bad enough to ruin the experience for me. Obviously I'm not speaking for anyone else, besides myself.

Actually, their attraction to one another is first revealed in Season 1 Episode 9, 17 episodes prior to the kiss on New Year's. Their feelings for one another were again shown in the fallout episode of "Failsafe", Season 1 Episode 17, but it took them until Season 1 Episode 26 to act upon it.
I don't see why you have such a strong objections to a bunch of teenage characters kissing?
Was a big fan right up until the hiatus. Ever since then its been declining. Even Deathstrokes arrival did little to re-energize my excitment.
Hating on voice acting valid hate, almost everything else is just you nit picking, do you really not like when characters kiss or have a relationship?
Shouldn't be in a kids show and if so, then make it more subtle. Turning it into a tongue orgy by the end of the season, where some of the characters didn't have that much in common the entire time feels just incredibly stupid.I don't see why you have such a strong objections to a bunch of teenage characters kissing?
I like the chemistry between Batman and Wonder Woman in JLU. Every kiss between them was a harmony, because it was very well written.
And yes, I do know that there were hints, but even though Wally was only interested in Miss Martian and actually tried to make a score, while when it came to Artemis he was just trying to be a womanizer. She was jealous, obviously. He was the problem in the end, since he took her, because Miss Martian wasn't available. That's cheap.
Did the black Wasp girl even know the big strong black dude or did she see him and decided to suck his air out without any reason? And no, Christmas Eve, no. No!
I actually like Young Justice.
In season one I lost the interest by episode 9, then I started watching it again. You know the first season was way too overcharged with the plots, I agree on that, but I liked that characters like Captain Marvel were shown. However, at the end, the season didn't have a real goal. I mean the whole season was a little bit pointless because The Light real plans were not revealed. Many of the episodes were made just because they wanted an "X character" to have his/her space in the show.
Season two is, in many things, more interesting that the first one due to the introduction of less known characters like Blue Beetle, Impulse, etc.
Both seasons lack of action, drama, real danger and immersive plots in every episode, I mean we have a great number of superheroes, but sometimes the episodes tend to become a little bit boring.
= cancelled. They probably should've focused on fewer characters instead of trying to do 3 generations of super heroes. Anyway, the teen titans go cartoon should have fewer characters.
I do have a few gripes with the show such as the long hiatus it randomly takes in the middle of a particular season. That pisses me off to no end. Annoying traits in characters do pop up from time to time but overall, I like the show. The last great animated series that I was keeping tabs on was SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN. Now, that was a GREAT show. I was deeply saddened to hear that it was canceled.
Anyway, to each his/her own opinion.
Why do you say that on like every thread. What is it ripping off from JLU exactly??I liked the show right up to the point where it became abundantly clear that season 2 was ripping off plots from JLU and Reach soda, seriously? Alien invasion by soda is a god damned Johnny Test level plot.
@cattlebattle: Harvesting super human DNA to weaponize, villains using PR as a weapon against the Justice League, I place odds that within the next two or three episodes they framed the Justice League. They're basically redoing JLU season 2 with the Reach and the Light instead of Cadmus and Brainiac. Tho atleast thing they didn't try to pawn off the stupid soda crap.
Cadmus in JLU was a government operation secretly funded by Luthor, Waller and her employees were actual patriots defending the world from a real threat they based on the events of "A Better World". Any discredditng of League was done by Luthor and Luthor only.....Luthor has always tried to discredit Superman and the League in the comics.....hell, the whole "Public Enemies" story arc is based on that its nothing new really@cattlebattle: Harvesting super human DNA to weaponize, villains using PR as a weapon against the Justice League, I place odds that within the next two or three episodes they framed the Justice League. Meanwhile in Young Justice, The Reach, in compliance with The Light seek to rule the world and advance the species while Godfrey is just a absurd pundit who hates the League, and The Ambassador is trying to make them look folly.
As for weaponizing super humans...this is something that is done in almost every comic...from X-men to Ninja Turtles
I dont think it's terrible,just wasted opportunity.

No but Superboy kisses Megan, follows up with Wally kissing Artemis, and as if not to be left behind Zatanna kisses Dick, that's stupid and rather inappropriate for a kids show.Still that's not necessarily valid criticism but it was blatant and distasteful.
I agree with what he's trying to say overall, the central plot is a mess, too many characters and mediocre story telling really it's a disappointment. However fans are getting their fix of "not Batman or Superman" and there lies the secret of the shows popularity.
I like how the only defense anyone has mustered to my argument is the old everyone else does it argument.
Your argument is the "its been done before" argument.....I like how the only defense anyone has mustered to my argument is the old everyone else does it argument.
logic gone
