Marvel characters are able to pick pokemon and train them to have them aid in battle against villians. I think it would actually be kinda cool. Marvel characters would pick the best pokemon that would relate to their personalities and abilities.

Thor gets a bunch of electric type , cap gets pokemon known for being brave and strong willed, etc.

No, but there is something to the idea about a Pokemon trainer using his pokemon to help people rather than fight other trainers.

Why the hell not

while we're at it, lets make a dc/yugioh crossover, or a marvel/dragonball one

@jaken7: I have a little confession to make, I've stopped paying attention the Pokemon universe since like the 2nd generation of Pokemon games, so I probably am missing a lot of things....

No. But a Pokemon game where the Gym Leaders are various Marvel superheroes, with the Elite Four being Iron Man, Ms. Marvel, Bruce Banner, and Thor, with the Champion being Captain America.

The trick would be that they'd all have powers that would effect their battles: Iron Man would use Steel and Electric type Pokemon, and he'd have an ability called 'SCRAPS!' which would make his Steel types faster and Electric types stronger. Ms. Marvel would have the ability to absorb energy attacks, making Special Attacks against her Pokemon weaker. Bruce Banner's ability would be called 'Control', and would give his Pokemon a deduction to their Physical Attack and Speed, but increase their Special Attack and both types of Defense. After taking out three of his Pokemon, he'd Hulk out and his ability would change to SMASH, which would raise his Pokemon's Physical Attack every turn they take damage. Hulk would also use Fighting type Pokemon, whereas Bruce would use some other kind (not sure which).

Thor would get 'Mjolnir', which allows him to change the weather to suit whichever one of his Pokemon is on the field. Other weather changing moves and abilities are ineffective. Cap would have the ability 'Inspiration', which raises all Pokemon's stats by one stage when they're sent out. This effects both trainer's Pokemon, because Cap fights fair.

Carry that kind of mentality over to the Gym Leaders (like a Bug type Gym with Spider-Man, a Fighting type gym with Iron Fist, a Dark type gym with Daredevil, a Ghost type gym with Ghost Rider) it'd be pretty cool. And the addition of Trainer Ability's would make the game more difficult, which could be nice.

I'd play it, anyway.

No..they're powerful enough on their own why would they need Pokemon to aid them in combat?

I could see this as a jokey What If, but not a series.

Alot of pokemon have special abilities that the avengers do not have. They would be a great help imo. Atleast if not the avengers maybe street level characters could use them.
