Which writer has written your favorite character in the worst conceivable way possible? Not which story arc is the worst, but which writer (over several story arcs) who wrote your favorite character and you absolutely despised the way he characterized them (or whatever was bad about the writer. I'm not you. :P)
Worst writer for your favorite character?
Fraction, Bendis, Aaron - Cyclops
Grayson, Johns - Batman
They all completely mischaracterized the characters to the point they should have all lost their jobs on the spot.
- Perez- Superman
- Johns- Batman
- Whoever did OMD- Spider-Man
- Fraction- The X-Men and Thor
- Bendis- Anyone who's not Luke Cage, Ultimate Spider-Man, or Daredevil.

A mix between Quesada and JMS.
Gotcha. Probably leaning more on Quesada, then. At least JMS told halfway decent stories after the fact.

JMS has a lot of good stories.
Oh, now that you mention it, I think he did The Other (or at least part of it). I take that last statement back then. JMS is good.
@Fadetoblackbolt. I used to feel the same way about Johns' Batman as least In the way that he interacts with Hal Jordan but it actually makes sense. I haven't read enough of John's Batman related stff to judge on anything else though

He wrote 74 issues from Amazing Spider-man, everything from the issue 471 to the issue 545 (OMD), in my opinion the best stuff that he wrote in Spider-man was Coming Home (The first appearence of Morlun), Happy Birthday, Civil War (Spidey's version) and Back In Black.
He also wrote the first 16 issues of Thor vol 3, Squadron Supreme, Supreme Power and Siver Surfer: Requiem (best thing he ever wrote).
JMS is awesome.@Gambit1024 said:

@Deadcool: I really liked his Thor. Never read his Silver Surfer, though. Can I dive right into it, or do I have to read something before hand?
@Avenging-X-Bolt: Read Johns Bruce Wayne Batman at the end of Flashpoint it was terrible, for some reason though he does an awesome Thomas Wayne Batman and an awesome Tim Drake Robin but he just doesn't get Bruce.

Have you been reading Justice League? Batman did something quite... uncharacteristic in the latest issue.

The thing about how he writes Bruce at the end of Flashpoint #5 is that he writes a good person, but he writes someone that is very....un-Batman I guess. Things like flash getting into the batcave completely undetected easily, Batman showing a obviously startled facial expression, Batman crying and swaying because he's over come by emotion. Johns wrote a very nice scene but the person in the scene felt like some random dude and not Batman.
Ugh, what happened now? Geez that series is terrible.@Avenging-X-Bolt said:

@BlackArmor. Ahhh I understand, I actually remember seeing Batman act in a similar manner during the Infinite Crisis which as we all know was also written by Johns. I guess it might be Geoff's way of trying to humanize Bruce? Anyway I can understand fans dissent. batman is human but very complex, he handles grief in a much subtler manner but hey, you already know that. Although I did like the scene where Bats pointed the gun at Alexander Luthor. It was cool seeing Bats so close to the edge without actually breaking but it shouldn't become a habit.
@Fadetoblackbolt. I think he might be talking about Batman revealing his identity to Hal, I'm not sure, I haven't read past the first issue
Well, it's shaping up to be J.T. Krul on Green Arrow.
It's a shame. I really did like Into the Woods.

Well during the middle of battle (when you should really be only focused on important stuff), Hal breaks his arm because he's an idiot. So instead of telling him to suck it up, Batman decides to take off his mask, tell him he's Bruce Wayne, and that makes everything all better.
Confused by the hatred for Fraction. His Cyclops and Emma are natural progressions from where Morrison and Whedon left them.
Best example of how well Fraction gets the two characters was the crossover with Dark Avengers and the two subsequent issues where Scott had to jump into Emma's mind to get rid of the Void-sliver.
As far as his Thor goes... the first arc with Pascual Ferry wasn't his best work...but the second arc was epic! How did you people not dig it?? Odin vs. Galactus in a psychic battle royale in space?Thor and the Surfer beating the holy hell out of each other? Kid-Loki being...kid Loki? Awesome, dynamic art? Good god, what more do you need?
Oh.... OK...@FadeToBlackBolt said:

(Writes Johns' name down on "Worst people alive" list next to Bendis and Julia Gillard)
Fraction's take on both characters was entirely hollow.Confused by the hatred for Fraction. His Cyclops and Emma are natural progressions from where Morrison and Whedon left them.

"Scott's leading the X-Men now, and has more confidence... Well I best make him an unemotional Dictator"
"Emma is confident with her place in the team and in the MU.... Well I best make her a complete tramp that's slept with every important male in the MU."
- Krul on Green Arrow.
- Fraction on Emma/Cyclops.
- Bendis on fcking everything. God I have his current titles too much.

Ehhhh, agree to disagree on that one. I haven't enjoyed anything Johns has written since he finished his run on Teen Titans.@FadeToBlackBolt said:

Then he should write Bucky.

Do you know what cures this disease you have? Setting up a knife in front of you and running into it. Repeatedly.

Well, I laughed the first one off, never read the second one but the third instance is one of the most abhorred moments in comics. That man is directly responsible for 70% of CV thinking Darkseid is a chump.
