What is, according to you, the worst Geoff Johns moment in a comic you have read?

#2 Posted by Xwraith (15212 posts) - - Show Bio

The only Geoff Johns comic I've read is the first TPB in his Teen Titans. And the only thing I remember not liking about that was that he made something from one of his teenage fanfics (Superboy is a clone of both Superman and Lex Luthor) part of official DC continuity.

Making Cyborg a founding member of the Justice League. It's not that I don't like Cyborg (In fact, I love him) or that I think he doesn't deserve a spot in the big leagues (He totally does), but rather because he booted Martian Manhunter in order to give Vic the spot. Then, to add insult to injury, he made the whole league hate MMH.

Well the first arc of JL was certaintly Johns worst read to date.

For me, it was the entire Black Adam And Isis story-line from JSA.

Considering his green lantern run is what cemented me in comics there are very few moments of displeasure. The good of completely re inventing GL far pot ways any little quirks.

But I do already have some complaints about Vendetti (?). Killed the entities, make GL bad guys, make GL seem like they are ruining the universe by stealing 'will' from a reservoir, retconning all lanterns power by having them powered by a finite reservoir rather than the collective emotions of the universe

It's kind of funny, but is also tactless at the same time.

in the first story arc he unmasks himself and announces his name something he wouldn't normally do......like ever

The moment that Batman manage to "steal" Hal Jordan´s Green Lantern ring, maneging to revealing his secret identity on Gotham City´s sewers on New 52 Justice League # 1.

His New 52 JL, it's gotten a bit better since Throne of Atlantis, but it's still pretty mediocre.

@grenadeflow:

Outside Gotham city at that time, Bruce Wayne might not known public figure as he know later. Even Batman was consider as urban legend at that time. (Plus Batman has only 5 years of existence but still has son which he was 10 years old)

His entire New 52 stuff can be collected into "Geoff Johns: The Worst Moments" which is unfortunate because his pre-52 stuff is some of my favorite stuff in comics.

Actually, even though that was a pretty dumb moment, I found Batman's comeback in the GL ongoing to be even stupider believe or not, it doesn't take that much batman knowledge to figure out that Batman isn't a petty character that needs to punch someone back to prove that his dick is bigger than the other person's. Just another little Geoff gem that makes clear that he has no understanding the character and has no business writing anything Batman related, that alongside the repeated retarded moments in JL and Forever Evil where he demanded to be the boss, pretty much the entire Earth One comic and so many other moments.

This.

Most recently, he has been ruining Justice League and treating Supes poorly.

#44 Posted by Avenging-X-Bolt (12506 posts) - - Show Bio

Geoff certainly has some stinkers but he's had some good stuff too.

@mogo1: he didn't make them bad guys, he simply made their reputation bad. There is a big difference.
