I really dislike Superman fanboys. They think and believe that he is "the greatest, most powerful, invinciable, just plain perfect character." It reminds me of the old Saturday night live skit they used to do about Mike Ditka. Just replace Mike Ditka with Superman and you get the just of Superman fanboys. "Superman vs. God, Superman wins by 2." They think no matter what, he will win. You can't reason with them, even though he has a glaring weakness, Kryptonite. Hell anyone can beat him, just gotta have some kryptonite. But what really bothers me about these guys is when you name a Marvel Superman rip like Gladiator, they just are so certain that Supes will win, no matter what. But when you bring up Doomsday, who is a Hulk rip, they are certain that Doomsday would beat Hulk and whomever else. It just seems like an obvious double standard to me.
My honerable mention is Batman fanboys. Hey I'm the first to admit that I like Bats, he is by far my favorite DC character, but I'm sorry I feel that many Marvel characters would mop the floor with him. I used to argue Batman vs Wolverine a lot, and Batman fanboys just think Batman will always find away, even though Wolverine would be one of the most difficult oppenents Batman ever faced. Far more difficult than Bane or killer croc, both of which Wolverine would chop down no problem imo. Like nother poster said, Batman fanboys think he could beat Galactus or the living tribunal with prep time. Just no reasoning with them.
Which brings me to my final point, I've been reading the battle forum a lot lately and it just seems to me that whatever side of the fence you are on in the Marvel vs DC debate is where your allegiances lie. I openly admit that I'm on the Marvel side, but it seems like others don't realize their biases. If you are on the DC side than you think Batman, Superman, and so on will beat everyone in the Marvel Universe, I get it. But I read a lot of "I believe, I think, In my opinion, etc." from the battle thread. Which the bottom line is these debates, while being fun, just lead to endless arguments where nobody really wins. Despite any so called "facts" from the comics, its just pure speculation. For all we know, if Superman was in Marvel he is only a 5 in strength, where Hulk is a 7. Or vice versa. We don't know how well one universes powers would translate to the others. I bring this up, not to argue, but to have an open discussion on this topic, any takers?
