Though we caught a brief glimpse of a cocoon in the Collector's shop many were disappointed it didn't open in the end credit scene to reveal Adam Warlock.

Given that and as a result of the Mind Gem being used to create Vision, is it possible Marvel is setting up Vision to take the spot of Adam Warlock in the upcoming Infinity Wars films?

Despite the visual similarities the gem in the forehead of the 616 Vision is not nor has never been the Mind Gem. On the other hand Adam Warlock, at the time just Warlock, did have the Soul Gem placed in his forehead by the High Evolutionary to aid in his evolution following his first regeneration after battling Thor (to note, Warlock visual changed into his visually known human form after that battle, possibly as a copy of Thor's physical features....which is interesting to compare as the cinematic Vision adopts a cape to visual mirror Thor in AoU).

At the same time the cinematic Vision has yet to take a human name, he really doesn't even call himself Vision in AoU, and since he's the first of his kind going with Adam would be fitting.

Thoughts? Given the huge reveal that Vision can lift Mjolnir (given he's basically a pure being) and is entrusted with an Infinity Stone it seems Marvel is setting him up to adopt the role Adam Warlock had in the comic arc of the same premise.

you're right.....sorry about that, thought AoU corrected itself and stated it to be the Soul Gem instead

however, given that the cinematic version does seem to blur the two a bit (technically giving Ultron and Vision "souls"/personalities due to its internal programming) the question still seems valid, particularly with the way Vision acts through the film

it wouldn't make sense that one character has two infinity stones except for thanos who is going to collect them

he is but in the absence of Adam Warlock the question is will Vision fill that role? I guess Warlock could be introduced in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 but I've heard no rumors of that and so I'm assuming he won't be a factor in Infinity War. Vision, on the other hand, has displayed a personality and presence immediately that is more indicitive of Warlock than the more emotionless 616 Vision that existed for many years.
