My money is on Wonder Woman, I'm hearing a lot of rumors about a movie lately. The TV series they've tried to do last year was a huge failure (I didn't hate it though) so I'm keeping my expectations on the low until we hear anything official.

As far as I know a Lobo movie is in the talks, and if the arrow series keeps being a succes a green arrow movie is possible imo.

I think that a Lobo movie is being discussed but from the others I think Green Arrow can happen the soonest.

Impossible to say which ones would fail/work. With a good writer, good acting, good directing..any of them could work. There is no material that automatically succeeds or fails. In a movie, it's all about execution.

In theory they could all work and be succesful or become a cult movie with the right cast, story and director. I think Lobo, Booster Gold, Blue Beetle would really struggle though..

Nightwing:

Red Hood:

I'd watch both of these. The rest... I'd see the Flash and Martian Manhunter movies. Everything else is meh.

which of these characters will ever be in a live action film? and which film will actually be good and which would fail?
  • Deathstroke - May get a live action film, thought it would fail.
  • Swamp thing - Already had one
  • Red hood - Would not have one, and it would fail.
  • Nightwing - May get one if he's in the next Batman series and it's a success. But I doubt it'd be a success.
  • Hawkman - Chance he'll get a movie (pretty small chance though), and it would fail.
  • Green Arrow - May get a movie. It could be a good movie, but I don't think it would do well.
  • Captain Marvel - Probably won't get one. It would probably be a failure.
  • Lobo - As much as I love the guy, I doubt he'll ever get something beyond a TV movie. If done right, it could be awesome and a success.
  • Martian Manhunter - I love the guy, but I don't think he'll get one. And I don't think it would be a success.
  • Wonder Woman - I think EVENTUALLY, DC will finally get out of this Batman craze and make a WW movie. If done right, it would be a success.
  • Flash - See Wonder Woman
  • Aquaman - See Wonder Woman.
  • Booster Gold - I don't think he'll ever get one. If he somehow does, it would fail.
  • Blue Beetle - I'm assuming we're talking about Jaime Rayes. I love the guy, but I doubt he'd get a movie and I don't think it'd be a success. I think an animated movie or TV show (live action or animated) would be better. If it's Ted Kord, just pretend the guy never existed.

deathstroke: I wouldn't bet on it

swamp thing: Probably wouldn't work on screen but I'd love to see it.

red hood/nightwing: would only work after there was an established batman continuity and would have connected movies of course

hawkman: He would need to appear in a JLA movie or something first, and even then he would need to get a huge swell of fans from it

green arrow: With his popularity in smallville and with arrow now out I think this one would be fairly likely

captain marvel: Shazam? Well... I would be more than skeptical, but if he appeared in a JLA movie first, who knows?

lobo: Not real likely. He is one of those characters that really only works well in comics I think

martian manhunter: Again with the backing of a JLA movie yes.

flash: He's popular enough to do it but he doesn't have a lot of usable villians

wonder woman: She SHOULD be able to pull it off but history would tell us otherwise

aquaman: He actually could pull it off. It'd be a hard sell to producers but it could be a really compelling movie

booster gold/blue beetle: Together would make them slightly more likely, but I wouldn't hold your breath on this one.

Anyway, thats my opinion

Deathstroke- It could generate more success if he started out in a suicide squad movie.

Swamp thing- There already was one but a reboot with today's special effects could improve.

Red hood- Would be difficult to explain the back story.

Nightwing- Same as Red Hood but more likely to be made

Hawkman- Already announced, It could be similar to Legion

Green arrow- If it's based off Year One then it has a bigger chance.

Captain marvel_ With Black Adam It can not.

Lobo- They already talked about making one and and said that it might have a Pg-13 rating so if they decide to keep that then it will probably fail.

Martian manhunter- It would be difficult to adapt but it could work.

Flash- I'm not sure but the Film will appeal to a lot of people.

Wonder woman- Same as Flash.

Aquaman- Will be met with confusion at first but it can work with the right Vision.

Booster gold- I don't think he has enough material for his own movie.

Blue beetle- It should stay with a Live-action show.

Shazam could actually be a success if they went similar to the Incredibles, completely kid friendly but with enough of a mature storyline to keep adults entertained.

@TheCannon: swamp thing had one in the 80s not the present where we have better technology which would make the film better, just like how captain america had a movie in the 80s yet he still had recent one and it did quite well.

and reason i was thinking maybe if a deathstroke movie would work or not cause they are making a metal gear solid movie and they are both similar characters.

and i think red hood is kind of similar too since all of these 3 characters are skilled, trained, would kill, and uses weapons especially guns.

I would love a Live-Action Red Hood, although I'm fine with the masterpiece animated one.

I still believe if they did Shazam as a family friendly (but not too childish) fantasy movie. You could have a few rough parts though I think Black Adam would work far better in a sequel than a first villain. Make it a trilogy, the first have the first villain be like Dr. Savannah or Mr. Mind, and have your light hearted adventure, then in the sequel you have Billy maybe starting to get an ego about him, then you introduce Adam who humbles him at first but Billy eventually comes out on top but not actually take Adam out. Then in the third you get to see Adam's honorable side when some threat comes up that Billy can't face alone so he has to join forces with Adam.
