In my view: In today's world, I have seen too many pseudo intellectual people who think loving Batman is cool and Liking Superman is lame and stupid. So most of those people like to join that trend, just to be cool in front of others. I have seen a lot of Batfans who haven't read any single comic book in their entire life, yet, they claim "Batman is the Best Comic-book/Fictional character ever", and if anybody denies it, they'll call them stupid, dumb or retard. So, it's up to the person, whether he/she wants to be a nonsensical sheep or a sensible person, who actually reads and understands the character instead of unnecessarily bashing it, just so he/she can.

Who knows, likes and dislikes are a generational thing, maybe in the future both Batman&Superman will take a backseat to Aquaman.

He is already cool.

Superman has always been cool. He doesn't have too be a Batman clone to do so. No Character does. Honestly his biggest downfall is that he's the first Superhero of this era (Not counting those who didn't survive later on). Superman is cool because he's what we should be.

Superman has always been cool. He's benevolent, humble, and altogether a good person. Most of the people I have heard call him a boyscout haven't read a Superman comic recently. He is the ultimate immigrant story.

To me, Batman is interesting for his own reasons. But that is now neither here nor there.

If Superman was a boring character he would have been cancelled years ago, kinda like how Batman was about to be cancelled all of those years ago because of a lack of appeal.

Just because he's not angst-ridden doesn't mean supes isn't cool. He's cool, because he's a good person. He's the most powerful being on earth and instead of using all his powers to enrich his life he uses them to help others.

Comicvine is a place where Supes, Bats & Aquman will always be hated more than any other character.....Superman is very much cool when he needs to be....I don't know what is the definition of "cool" but I believe it's a matter of opinion....In my eyes all time coolest character is Gambit...But Supes is plenty cool...He doesn't always show off.....The reason Supes and Bats are cool to me because when all else fails people look up to these 2 more than anybody else to save the day and the matter of fact that he always held back to show his true raw power is another reason he is cool to me...Also guy had like 30 different copycats in all of the comic book universe...you need to have certain charisma to have that...

When people try to use power levels or feats to show whose a "cooler character," I don't see the value of the character. I wish Superman fans would stop using Batman as a comparison to why Superman is great, because nearly all the arguments are invalidated by other heroes. When Batman is compared to other superheroes, he's compared to, not only superheroes, but various characters in fiction.
