Will Shazam Replace Green Lantern in JL Movie?

No, he's to similar to superman, I don't think they would work well together on screen. Besides i think the only orginal member that won't be in it is Martian. Manhunter. But we will see, I could be wrong.

Guess I'll go ahead and add my opinion too, even though I asked the question. I think it's quite possible that this will happen, and I'm fine with that. Like people said, Shazam is a lighter character than even Hal. But if GL isn't included in the first JL film, I think he'll DEFINITELY be in the 2nd.

No. From the sound of things it doesn't seem like GL will even be on the team tho.

he has probably the highest potential for cool effects in movies

and is the only comic line with as many related titles as batman or superman

GL is one of the Five originals..not a chance..he is much too big of a character...I hope they are both in the movie.

@project_worm: besides costume similarities Superman and Shazam are very different. Whether Shazam is more cool that's subjective.

green lantern is a staple imo and taking him out wouldnt be fair. last i heard that they were casting Chris pine(which everyone thought he'd be steve trevor) for the role but im not sure about it. i just know that they need a green lantern

I could see a magical hero like Dr Fate or Zatanna replacing Green Lantern maybe even Constantine (going by Hellblazer). Billy I think could do his own movie, a sweet kid who meets a wizard, gains super powers and fights a creepy mad scientist.

@project_worm: if they were to put him in the same movie as Superman people would see otherwise though.

@project_worm: If they use the New 52 look and give him the hood, armour and the lightning effect, he should pretty distinctive from Superman looks wise.
