@thanatic: they have done things he's incapable of doing before. Hank Pym outsmarted him once and Reed prepped for him or at least was ready.

Yeah, I kind of noticed he didn't want to, he just never explained why, and arbitrarily not including her is silly.

Even Galactus said,it is not lost on me Reed Richards that you have a universally relavent intellect.and Galactus seems to be the smartest being in the universe.He certainly knows more than Phoeinix,he taught her her role in the cosmic higherarchy.

There's always Doom to be snooping around. Science-wise Reed is best but being smartest covers more than just being knowledgeable. Reed's intellect is probably a superpower rather than natural. Doom's intellect is more natural.
