What do you guys think ?I don't think it will be .
Will Marvel NOW! Be as successful as the Nu52
They don't seem to be doing anything that will raise awareness. The only advertisements (more like teasers) i see are targeted at people who already read comics, there is no attempt to get readers from the general public. You would think they would be targeting the people who like the movies and the kids who like the cartoons.
We should be seeing a major marketing campaign, but we're not so It wont be as successful as the N52 and the effects wont be as long lasting. A year from now marvel will be rolling out some new gimmick and event fatigue will soon become Relaunch fatigue.

I won't be buying anything from Marvel NOW. Seems like a rip off.
In what way is it a rip off?
I think it depends on how well-written the titles are, but I agree that Marvel isn't really doing much advertising on it, so many people might not notice the titles coming out of Marvel NOW unless Marvel starts advertising this a little better.
You know... people compare Marvel NOW to The New 52, but I feel it's closer to One Year Later. For example:
- Universal jumping-on point
- Some characters get redesigns
- Continuity is intact, but there may be some retcons
- It's aimed at comic book readers rather than the general public
The only difference is that Marvel is relaunching several titles, but they do that all the time anyway.
I doubt it will have the initial success of the new 52 but I believe long term Marvel will be ahead.
I doubt it will financially. In terms of quality that is opinion but so far I don't like the rosters/creative teams and have no clue what is going on with the X-men.
Nope.
It'll be a year, a few good (and bad) issues will be cranked out, they'll decide we need another "big event," everything that AvX changed will be made obsolete, they take a month to set up another another lame crossover, another year will go by (featuring another crossover), they'll decide that things have gotten to the point where things like time-traveling bullets or stupid memory wipes won't fix the problem, and then they'll relaunch the universe with Marvel Revolution (or some other adjective that implies change).
And I guarantee that I'm not too far off from the "Marvel Architect" train of thought.

That. But anyways, not likely.
I only read Spider-Man, Deadpool, and Captain Marvel as is, I don't plan on picking up anymore.
Can someone PLEASE explain Marvel: Now to me? I thought it was just another event with the original X-Men coming to the future and current verse. But now there's costume redesigns and what not... I don't get it.
I may be biased since I'm primarily a DC guy, but no. I am only interested in 2 series right now and one of them isn't even one they are promoting much (Avengers Arena.)

I don't read Avengers vs X-Men but I know that it's spinning out from the conclusion of it. Marvel NOW doesn't really seem like an event, more like a renumbering of everything signalling new story directions in almost all titles. Basically, it's one big jumping on point. I don't think it's a reboot like DC's New 52 was, just a...relaunch, I guess.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
@Adnan: Ok... so basically what they did after the whole Second Coming thing but with all of Marvel? Thanks.

Yea bro i think it's suppose to be Signifying like the start of a new Era in Marvel, (not saying it will be) but how people cut things off with Bronze, Age, Golden Age ect. This is Marvel's attempt at start a whole new era of Books and making 'big' changes.
As far as if they will be as successful as the New 52 it's really hard to say, i do know i like the format better the whole reboot thing has always annoyed me, Hey lets Erase everything and start over!! I however have picked up several new 52 titles and enjoy them so it worked well for them at least for people who weren't fans before. So over all I hope it is but it doesn't seem to getting Hyped as much (at least not to the general populace)
