@kgb725: Yes its true that a true death is possible but in general it is very difficult to permanently kill a character.
Mar-Vel wasn't that popular....he never was at least not enough to nessecitate bringing him back.
In this age of movies it is unlikely that they will allow Jane Foster to die - at very least not until her Earth -199999 counterpart ceases to be.
You see the special thing about the MCU universe - the edge that it has over the rest of the universes is its connection to earth 1218 (us) and that connection is money. The MCU is the highest grossing film franchise of all time, surpassing Harry Potter in profits after the release of Age of Ultron which made roughly $1.2 billion, this insane number was actually considered a disappointment by their standards, but it doesn't change the fact that Earth 1218 is the most profitable of the universes. Earth 1218 sends ripples to the other universes now, in the same way Earth 10005 forced the X-men to start wearing black leather - through its monetary connection to earth 1218! All decisions regarding The Avengers and so forth are now made with the intention of making Earth 616 and all other universes more like 1218, already 1218 has begun to echo but this is culminating in Secret Wars which will be a massive overall of universes - all the major universes destroyed together except one which will be noticeably missing.
This is why Jane Foster cannot die, because her MCU counterpart has not, her fate it seems is tied to Natile Portmans career.
