I'm not all too sure if this has been addressed or not but why isn't Secret Wars a reboot?

I'm reading the event, along with Ultimate End right now and I'll admit that I'm a little confused, but I still don't see why they don't just reboot to universe, or at least have the new one their making be a fresh start.

Merging universes together and starting a new one (with the same continuity from the old ones, I'm assuming) just sounds confusing to me. Especially if you're a newer reader.

I know right. You would think so that they could put a new #1 on everything!

Marvel don't believe Tha they need a reboot... And they don't to be honest...

Secret Wars will give writers a chance to clean some characters up and that what they are going to do...

Because neither marvel or the fans want a reboot.

I, personally, think that Marvel could use a reboot. It's been something of a mess in the last few years.

The only thing Marvel needs to do is put out good books; a reboot would be pointless.

Marvel likes it's long standing history with its characters. All I think Secret Wars might do is clean up some of those retconned moments or characters so it's like those past events and versions never happened.

I actually like the fact that Marvel and DC do things differently. I would hate for Marvel to reboot and to have some of my favorite characters go back to origins we've seen a dozen times.

I don't need Peter Parker as a teen again or Flash Thompson to be a bully again.
