Why does Wonder Woman need to be muscular again?

I've never picked up a Wonder Woman comic in my life,but I keep hearing people say Gal Gadot isn't muscular enough. Can someone explain why she needs to be muscular? I mean she looks fine to me. I feel like people are blowing this out of proportion..Why can't she be toned? I mean Lynda Carter wasn't even muscular...

See the problem is that Gal Gadot is not even toned. Wonder Woman is so strong that realistically she should not be skinny at all. I've always liked how they usually draw Power Girl as a bit thicker. She's super strong, she shouldn't be skinny. Gadot is nowhere near how Diana is drawn in comic books. I don't care that much, I am just saying. Brandon Routh wasn't a big superman and none of the Batmen were big except Christian Bale. Gadot can work as Diana, it would just be nice if she was a bit more muscular

She doesn't need to look muscular, per se. She just shouldn't be as skinny as Gadot.

She doesn't have to be excessively muscular, but she shouldn't be thin. She should be fit.

Because she's a battle hardened warrior who trains rigorously on a daily basis, she should be far more fit than you're aver person. It also helps for an action star that's doing a lot of physical based stunts to actually be able to do them themselves.

I don't get it. I think Gal looks fine.

To that point he was the most muscular Batman of all and i think was the tallest of the movie Batman, weirdly Adam West is the tallest Batman actor i can think of, besides the fact he is the exact same height Batman is.

Besides Nolan wanted a more Neal Adams body for his Batman.

I can't speak for everyone, but my issue is that Gal doesn't even look athletic. Wonder Woman should have an impressive physical presence. Gal doesn't look like she could do a single push-up, much less stand toe-to-toe with the man of steel.

My WW needs meat on her. It's just another Hollywood portrayal of women, even though WW is a buff and tall woman, not some skinny little chick.

I still don't get why everyone is on Gal's case for being skinny, when Jaimie Alexander is the exact same size and played Sif...a warrior woman, who comes from a race of warriors...who fights non stop and is stronger than your average girl. Hell, people even wanted her to play WW for a while.

Oh wait, that's Marvel, they do no wrong.

I still think Gina Carrano would have been better and there were other better choices.

I wouldn't go that far, Age of Ultron still gets a lot of unfair roasting from comic fans. You'd be under the impression it was another Batman and Robin, if you read most of the comments from here about it.

No one ever questioned Xena. I think Gal will look just fine. It's a movie, they can do wonders with editing these days.

Because she's not paper thin like Gal Gadot.

I don't feel like thats a great counter she looks like ,she has more size than Gadot that. But I agree with what your saying. Nolan made Tom Hardy bigger with camera angles and trickery when in reality he wasn't big at all IMO. He looked small in some shots.

Cause she's supposed to be a female warrior that can punk guys around, and seeing a twig trying to do that is silly.

I hear complaints towards Marvel all the time. The way people are talking about age of Ultron makes it sound like it flop. Did people even give a crap about ^^ character enough to complain? Probably not in comparison to wonder woman, who is actually important and an icon. Most non fans would know wonder woman, most people barely knew who Lady Sif is.

I've always wondered why modern Superman has to be ripped and muscular. He could be a beanpole or tub of lard and still have the same powers and strength levels.

@flameboy298: she really is, those to pics aren't really good comparisons. Carter literally only has bigger breasts. And that picture was taken before Gadot filmed any WW scenes because and I quote Zack Snyder "she's still getting toned".
