Why do some people think The Dark Knight Rises was "Ok" or "Bad"?

In my opinion, The Dark Knight Rises was my favorite one. Also, when people say Batman Begins is the best one....how? lol

I thought it was pretty awesome! They have to make another. They just have too. I don't care about JL movie and new Batman. This is pretty much one of the greatest trilogies ever.

Some people like it, some people don't. I thought it was the best in the trilogy.

Because it wasn't perfect.

Also, what's the problem of thinking Batman Begins was the best? what I don't get is your point of view. Some people think TDK is the best, others prefer TDKR and others, like me, think Batman Begins is awesome and TDK went down in comparison. It's an opinion like many others, my opinion. Doesn't mean it's right but it's what I feel

Oh, I have a long list of reasons but I'd rather not piss anyone off because it's solely my opinion and mine alone. I respect that people loved the film but I hate when they assume that everyone has to as well.

Because they don't know any better. SMH.

As much as I like the movie (and I like it a lot), I have to admit that the movie did have a lot of flaws, like things that weren't explained well (or at all). So it seems totally reasonable to me that other people wouldn't be as forgiving as I am (or conversely, like the good parts as much as I did).

Opinions.pssh go figure.

Only problem I had was that I wanted to See under Banes mask and that this didn't happen:

I had a few problems with the movie, but overall I enjoyed it and thought it was an alright ending to the trilogy. I didn't like the socialist undertones of the movie, I can go into example, but then I would be spoiling it. I didn't like Bane's voice, he didn't sound very menacing. I was also unimpressed with the vehicles again, I didn't particually like what was reveiled at the end involving Bane. I didn't like how it ended for Batman either. But again, with that being said I enjoyed it.

Also "blowing up" Heinz Field.. unforgivable in my book, but I did like seeing my Pittsburgh Steelers in the movie. Oh as a side note did anyone find it odd the team name was Rogues.. Gotham Knights would have been so much better.

Some people don't like it because it wasn't really close to the comics.

Yes it did... It was still awesome, though. I think it would have been so much better if Ledger was alive and had made a cameo. I preferred the Dark Knight most.

Really? I didn't notice that. I just assumed they were the Knights. Why would they change that?

To me the people who don't like the film, and the Trilogy in general boils down to three categories. 
 
1. They simply don't like it, it's not their cup of tea, which is understandable 
 
2. They are angry Batman fanboys that whine about the films not being accurate to the comics despite the fact that it is its own universe and separate from the comics. 
 
3. They are hipsters who hate anything that is popular, the Dark Knight trilogy is popular, thus they must hate it.

@jobiwankenobi:I don't know if there is a football team in the comics in Gotham and if there is what its name is, I just found it odd they went with Rogues instead of Knights. I just think Knights sounds better.

@Nova`Prime`: In Batman TAS and The Justice League there was a team and it was The Gotham Knights. Weren't you referring to that?

While I do think that Dark Knight Rises was the best of the trilogy I can see why people would prefer either of the previous two films. TDKR drew heavily from both the first and the second film and for some people that can be a turn off. Also The Dark Knight allowed Nolan a bit more free reign to express his artistic vision, while Batman Begins was a far easier film to make and had much more universal appeal (the source material saw to that).

I thought the ending was incredibly cheesy, found the first act boring, and strongly disliked about five characters. Although there were various elements in the middle such as the prison scenes and first Bane fight that I enjoyed. For me it was definitely the worst of the trilogy, and would have no urge to give it another chance if I wasn't such a fan of the genre.

I did enjoy the movie, but I think it may be my least favorite of the trilogy. Dark Knight and Batman Begins are 1 and 1a to me and Rises is a close second but second none the less. I thought it was a pretty predictable movie for the most part and nothing really jumped out as phenomenal to me. Ledgers performance in Dark Knight was great, and I really liked Caine and Freeman's parts a lot better in Begins. Rises was a good movie but I would not call it 'Epic' or even on par with the rest of the trilogy.

I'd comment, but I'm posting my review soon, so... well keep an eye out for that to see my overall thoughts.

I enjoyed the movie. I'd say it's equal to TDK and better than BB. Some things I can nit pick about it but it isn't worth it IMO. I'd say BB was the "worst" movie, I like it but I don't think I have ever seen it all the way through (even though I watched it in theatres in 2005).

I loved the first two films, with Batman Begins being my all time favourite comic-book film. There was just so much about TDKR that disappointed me. It wasn't a bad film in any sense, just lacking compared to the other two in the trilogy.

Everyone has their own taste in movies... Alot of people believe including me that the original is the best..... So the original Dark Knight film just seems better than the newer one.

@MurieC16: actually people do not like as much it because the look at it as another film in the trilogy and not as the end of the trilogy. we all knew this was the last film and we all knew where it was going pretty much. unlike the first two where almost any thing could happen. it lacked any real suprises and the ones it did have you would have to be pretty out of the comivine realm to not think of before hand.if people thought about it like that there would be a much more postive reaction. and just like the star wars movies i one liked and best film was the middle one.

@Nova`Prime`: not picking on you but you did mention it. i don't were you see socialist overtone as a problem being that 1. the bad guys where the ones with them and 2. everything goes back to normal at the end of film and 3. the hero is a rich guy. so unless your a socialist, tell me why you were bother by that?

Some things bugs me.

-Bane not so smart and his 'epic' death

-Robin, give him his real name, show some respect to the readers.

-Talia played by a bad actress

-The kiss between Batman and Catwoman, it was dull and predictable

-The final fight is way too easy for Batman

@Alfolantern94: I thought Bane was pretty smart and maybe the death could have been better, I wasn't too thrilled about Robin John Blake, I mean I was hoping it would be Richard Grayson.

and of Course the Catwoman-Batman kiss was predictable.

As for the final fight. take a look at the situation: Batman is fighting on the ground in the middle of the city with mercenaries and cops clashing all over in broad daylight-making Batman unable to use stealth like he can at night and having a rematch against Bane, the guy that snapped his back like a Twix Bar and unable to use the Bat as much because of the allies he has in the fray.

Not a problem at all, what I mean was when you see Bane's people taking over the city it looks like every working stiff is joining his little revolution, which in reality wouldn't be true.. you saw door men dragging people out of the buildings and what not. Then you have Catwoman's little hanger on saying "It's everybody's house" when she says, "This use to be somebodies house". It was just enough to irritate me, but not enough for me to dislike the movie. Also any movie that makes me root for cops get a downgrade.

I think it's because ppl (me included) went to the movie expecting to feel the same way we did when leaving The Dark Knight: excited, pumped, mindblown. But this movie had a different..."feel" to it. It was an...and ending. But the more I reflected on it, the more I appreciated the genius behind the film. To take all of the elements from Batman storylines that Nolan did and then weave them so seamlessly into his own story is incredible. And the film conveyed a lot more menace. Even though stuff got real with the Joker, there was still a sort of perverse levity. The films sort of mirroed their villians: Joker's film mirrored the way he would beat you--laughing all the way; DKR reflected how bane would finish you--putting his foot on your chest and crushing you slowly

@KenTheProfile: I didn't notice any type of fascist overtones... I guess we can all see what we want in any movie. And the more I think about it, I wouldn't say out right socialist, but what it did remind me of was the French Revolution were they were going after the rich just because they were rich.

I disagree with Banes voice not being menacing. Bane is suppose to be strong, skilled, and highly intelligent. I think his voice reflected his intelligent side, while his body and fight scenes displayed his ruthlessness and physique. And I also think TDKR was awesome, but like every other movie, had its flaws. I didn't like the Bane is Talias pet part though......

I'm honestly not sure why people keep referring to Bane as Talia's pet,she valued him like a sibling/older brother.Granted his death was crap which people may say was a consequence of the Talia reveal.Suicide would have been better.

I thought it was great, overall, definitely worth seeing, though it did have some issues. Some of these issues are minor, a few are the sorts of things that prevent a really, really good movie from being GREAT or EPIC. It might even be great, but it still had enough issues to hold it back from achieving everything it could've. There's a list of all the issues I noticed, no matter how big or small.

So, I'd recommend people see the movie, it's really great. It's not as great as it could've been, but it's still definitely a fun time, and a bit interesting and intriguing as well. I also appreciated that Bruce used a memory stick for once, the tech in the movies always seems advanced, but not akin to our tech. That simple device brought me back to saying "Oh, yup, they have modern tech like ours, just embellished", instead of "They have different, advanced tech, not really akin to ours". A little thing that made a big difference in my opinion. It was like an anchor back to our world.

i loved it. but there were some things that i didnt like.

1.banes death

2.batman quiting. batman never quits

3.why couldnt robin be named dick grayson i was kinda mad that his name was john blake

4. talia in my opinion was the worst villian of the franchise

I thought Dark Knight Rises was good but still the worst in the trilogy. I did not like how they introduced Bane. It seemed to much like the Dark Knight where you don't see the villain yet they keep referring to them and then you find out that one of the people in the scene is the villain. That reminded me of when they introduced the Joker during the Bank Robbery in the first scene of the Dark Knight. I still enjoyed the movie but I thought it was the worst of the three.
