Why do humans love death and destruction so much?
Because it's fun to watch.
Humans are predatory, barbaric creatures who pretend to be civilized.
Society is the only thing that keeps the world from burning down.
It's a release. It's why people are encouraged to watch drama, football or other sorts of events. Catharsis helps us to experience the things we see to some degree in a safe way. If you were to witness the Hippolytus it would help release pent up emotion. You see the death of Hippolytus and Phaedra and the grief of Theseus and it allows you to feel the same emotions but without the actual consequences.

Also this. Are you familiar with Thomas Hobbes?
@theredheadedyeti: I regret that I am not.
@deaditegonzo: He has something which he called the state of nature. It refers to the time before civilized society and in this state there were only freedoms. People did as they pleased to one another regardless of what we consider civilized morals today, and thus a social contract was born to curtail this. This contract created rights and obligations amongst ourselves and forms the foundation of so called "civilized" society. It's essentially a trade off. We place restrictions on ourselves making a "safe" community, but also lose the ability to do whatever we want. That's the basic gist. You could probably find some Hobbes in a local bookstore if you looked hard enough if you'd like to know more. That's about all I remember from the one philosophy class I took in my first year at university.
I think the "all humans are evil monsters" way of thinking is just stupid. I honestly think humanities biggest flaw is that we're lazy and we let bad people be our leaders. Aside from that I really believe most humans are decent people who just want to live decent lives. This has beenmy experience with everyone I've met in my life and, really, all I really know for sure are the things I've learned in personal experiences. Everything else is just me taking someone else's word.
'Cause we like building sh*t and to build sh*t we gotta break stuff it's what we do. So seeing sh*t fall is embedded in us a something great.
*shrugs* >_>
@theredheadedyeti: Interesting, I appreciate the tip.
@sog7dc: ill stick to beleiving humans are evil.
@sog7dc: Most people at the outset don't care who their leader is, as long as they don't have to shoulder the responsibility and often don't care about the methods so as their country improves.
@deaditegonzo: Happy to share a little info.
@theredheadedyeti: Like I said, people are lazy and let bad people be their leaders.
I don't think most do. I tend to think that the vast majority of humans just want to be left alone to live life with family, friends, and loved ones. There are people that crave death and destruction, but I find that many of them develop these traits as a result of living in environments where they are cut off from love or freedom of choice - this craving for destruction is a result of a thwarted will that just wants freedom, but redirects its bitterness towards other people. My 2 pennies.
@ganon15: question is why do you?

I don't
@ganon15: if you dont, and i dont, then who does? unless we're not human?
