Three main reasons
1.) Contrary to what the majority thinks, most of the users who pitted Batman against characters of far higher power levels are users who do it for laughs. The majority of Batman battle threads are now against street levelers.
2.) Unlike Superman and other "overpowered" characters' fanbases, Batman fans do recognize that the comic-book world is FICTIONAL, including Batman himself. They are well aware that the writer is the one who determine the winner of a fictional battle, and thus are more or less cynical when discussing prep battles. Most Batman fans do NOT take the battle forums seriously, in contrast to certain fans involved in Superman vs Goku debates...
3.) Wenjun Chew was a pretty reasonable Batman fan - He was only questioning some of the methods used to debate in battles here, as demonstrated in threads like:

Truth be told, comic-book fans need to be less biased against DBZ.
