Who'd make a good Doctor Who companion?

Let me clairify that I'm asking what comic book character would make a good companion for the Doctor to travel around with for a while (until they go back to their lives or they die).

Also you can decide which Doctor the character would travel with (from 1 to the one appearing in August).

Martian Manhunter would be cool lol.

The next Doc in line, but he doesn't reveal it till it's regen time- where he mysteriously leaves.

Alakazam would be a good partner. He has an iq of 5000 and magic and psychic powers that would helpful for the doctor.
