Most people have one or two favourite characters that stand out from the rest of the crowd. In the same way, many have characters that they really dislike. If you had the chance to erase one of these characters from comic book history, who would it be? Maybe you would want to get rid of Superman because he's "overpowered". Prehaps you would remove Squirrel Girl as punishment for her beating all those big bad guys. However, there's a twist: if you delete a character, you will also delete their legacy. This includes story arcs, villains and any other thing/person that exists because of the character you wish to delete.
Who would you erase from comic book history?
dan slott and the superior spider-man storyline.
you can take all of his work on spider-man for that matter. nothing he has done has been that memorable (in a good way anyway)
For me, it would probably be Franklin Richards because I find him irritating and I don't think he's "worthy" of the kind of power he has. I also don't like his sister because she just seems like a show-off (not in a good way) and the fact that she's one of the smartest scientific minds on Earth at such a young age is annoying.
Kieron Gillen's run on Iron Man.
Does anyone actually read that?

The first few issues were meh. They blew and kinda killed the whole point of Ellis-Knauf-Fraction's collective runs...but they were just mediocre.
It's the whole Secret Origin arc that really rubs me the wrong way. An entirely unnecessary retcon.
Storm and Deadpool. The world would be much better off without their fans.
Deadpool's awesome.

It never seems to do anything special. You'd think after becoming a hit you'd finally get some more good stories.
@dagmar_merrill: Deadpool is cool, but he (IMO) has some of the most annoying fans in comic books.
I would remove the silly next gen characters. I know people like them (in some cases more than the original) but, I would like it if a hero died or whatever, there wasn't someone to just take his name. No wally flash, no John Stewart, no Bucky becoming Capam, a hero should be original in at least some way, not just a copy with the same name.
@g_leno: I agree with you. Except for John Stewart. The Green Lantern is more a universal identity. I do wish DC would cut back on the amount of human Green Lanterns.
Probably Jason Todd's Red Hood history. I hate how they brought him back. I like the idea of one dead Robin that isn't Damian. I would also take out Iron Man because I hate Tony Stark so much.
Jean Grey, I want to see the Marvel Universe without the phoenix force. Plus she is really annoying.
Sentry. This is marvel we don't need a win all do all character. So also Hyperion because he just a bad character with superman abilities. Gladiator is the only superman clone aloud in marvel.

Actually I knew many who liked Bucky's Captain America more than Steve's..Bucky didn't have the super solider enhancements and made his Cap seem more "realistic" or that he took more skill to get the job done.
I'd get rid of Superior Spider-man..It's ridiculous that they let his series keep going yet cancel the good ones like Kaine's Scarlet Spider. Kaine>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Spock every day of the week

A man after my own heart...(on this topic anyhow). Slott has so many bad writing habits. I've even thought about doing a blog on it, but my scanner is very slow, and the project would take too long. What he did teach me was that my loyalty to ASM and Peter Parker out weighed whether or not I enjoyed the stories. He did ONE storyline I liked (The Lizard) and yet I kept buying the book. Once he did the Doc Ock crap (Which was the epitome of a cheap stunt)..I had to leave. The sad news is, when Parker returns, I think he'll still be the writer. But it'll be Parker, so I'll buy the book again.
Robin. It took away from the darkness of Batman. Plus it lent itself to all those jokes about him running around with a young boy in hot pants. And I don't care if Dick, Tim and Damian are/were badasses, I HATE the domino mask.
And Dan Slott.
And the whole marvelnow! marvelnow! regime.
But mainly Robin.
@veshark: I feel exactly the same about Gillans run, can't get on with it at all.
Everyone in the justice league and avengers, fantastic four, x-men spiderman
No X-Men means no Logan which means no Weapon X which means no Wade Wilson. Quick, edit it and say original X-Men.

What about Slott's other work, Like Avengers: Initiative, She-Hulk, Mighty Avengers etc.?
@rulerofthisuniverse: I agree with Storm. I haven't really seen any bona fide Deadpool fanboys. Are they that annoying? Nothing can touch Storm's level of annoying fanbases.
@bierschneeman: Frank Miller and Rob Liefeld? Legacies untouched I agree, but as it stands you realize you're getting rid of Modern Batman (not a problem if you're into campy Adam West Bats), Deadpool, Cable, X-Force, and very possibly Image Comics. Those two are worthless nowadays, but what they've created would be sorely missed.

Dennis o Neil made a more serious Batman so no we wont see a campy Adam west Batman.
@black_arrow: True, the Denny O' Neil and Neal Adams era Batman took it out of camp, but it didn't make it the dark knight of brooding vengeance that we know today. So, without Miller we'd still have '70s Batman.

I be good with that but It probably will be a little darker because Alan Moore would have probably write the Killing joke anyway.
