Marvels Civil war was Lead by Captain America and Ironman. The leader of the Pro Registration side and the anti registration? Batman would probably be the leader of Anti but your thoughts?
Who would be the two Leaders of a DC Civil War?
I'd say Superman for pro registration and Batman for anti. And Wonder Woman would take Supermans side.
@stormshadow_x: I'd think that Batman would be 'pro', as people with flashy powers and outfits tend to be a pet peeve with him.
Asides from the obvious but in terms of making a good story: Green Arrow anti registration and Wally West pro.
Wally already was a public identity, Green Arrow thinks most governments stink.
Civil War is based off of TDKReturns, except Marvel believes in Captain America more than DC believes in Superman. It's Superman vs. Batman and Batman is in the right(Cap). But it should be Diana vs. Batman.
Wonder Woman has no SID, Wonder Woman is from a monarchy so she doesn't take kindly to dissention and would actively demand people listen to her and Wonder Woman usually works with goberment when chilling with Steve Trevor. I say Superman plays the role of Spider-Man.
Batman is the least trusting member of the JL though, when is he going to rouge. It's always Diana and Clark.
I think Batman and Superman would both be anti registration, and oppose other heroes like Captain Atom who would. I wouldn't want DC to do it exactly the same as Marvel, I would rather see the heroes that work with the government, oppose heroes like the Justice League who don't believe in that.
But if it was Batman and Superman, I could see Bruce as pro registration, and Clark as anti.
@tyger: She didn't the New Frontier.
@stormshadow_x: Who do you think bro? Really...Think about the history.
We all know it would be pro registration Superman and anti registration Batman.
Injustice:Gods Among Us or Kingdom Come.
it will always come to that.
I disagree. I think Superman and Batman should be out of planet for something like that to happen.
Main universe Superman would not be pro registration and neither would Batman. Both realize the problems with the gov. and the need to be outside of it. Superman has had many problems with the gov. nor does he believe he he's beholden to just one country. He believes he's a world hero. Also no way he's giving up his secret identity. Not even getting into how absolutely OOC it was for Spider-Man to do so.
Un like what most people are saying I doubt Superman would Pro registration unless he was being wrote by Frank Miller. If Anything he'd stay neutral or try. So how about you answer the question and say what you think?

People saying Superman for Pro probably don't know the character so well...
Superman will probably be neutral, Batman would certaintly be anti and the "leader" of the pro faction would be someone like Captain Atom or Steve Trevor, or even New 52 Martian Manhunter.
This!! I think that at first Superman would be neutral but If some hero dies during a fight, he is going to chose a side to try to end the war (most possible the anti side).
A lot of the story would depend on what the inciting incident was (i.e.: Stamford explosion), however as a general rule, I'd say Batman leads the Anti-registration faction and Wonder Woman leads the Pro-registration faction. Supes hides in his Fortress of Solitude for the majority of the event, before appearing in the finale to try and stop everyone from fighting each other, before being assassinated by and unknown assailant. He dies, and a wedge is driven between Bats and WW until a later invasion by White Martians (prefaced by Martian Manhunter re-appearing) wherein Supes is resurrected and everything becomes marginally less grim (until the next event of course).

Finally someone is talking some sense
@maximizer: Neither, it would have to be hero whose SID would be a major reveal. Likely Supes or Batman.

LOL i was JK
No way would any member of the Trinity be pro. They all have loved ones who have been hurt by their villains.
Identity Crisis showed us that most DC characters would be against registration.
Lex would be leader of the pro registration side.
@pokeysteve: Not to mention none of them are hopeful enough to blindly believe the government can be trusted with that kind of sensitive info.
None of the Justice League would be pro and something like civil war would never happen in the Core universe.

Nobody, this type of thing can't happen in DC. Batman would always be anti-registration and Superman would never fight a Civil War. There is no one else who could actually lead an equal number of heroes as Batman can. Wonder Woman could be written that way I suppose, since her character has always been inconsistent, but in truth none of the good versions of the character would do this.

Lol seriously. Checkmate and Argus alone are reasons enough to keep quiet.
@stormshadow_x: @pokeysteve: I have to say this.
Civil War ripped off DC's Kingdom Come.
@ultrastarkiller: that would be so cool if this were pre 52. Clark could try to confront wally to try to convince him to be pro - registration and get an IMP to the face!
@frozen: Hahaha I can totally see it!
Injustice:Gods Among Us or Kingdom Come.
it will always come to that.
Lex is the one who strikes me as the most clear cut Pro, he's just not a hero.

@stormshadow_x I actually think Superman/Batman "Public Enemies" is the closest thing to DC "Civil War" we've seen.
You have an egotistical billionaire, who is effectively made the most powerful man in the country (Lex Luthor) gathering Superheroes on his side, and waging a war against the heroes who oppose him, i.e, Superman, Batman and their friends. Heroes fight Heroes, lines are crossed, friendships are put to the test, etc.

Not really. Excluding having heroes fighting each other, there isn't really many parallels to the stories. KC explores Old vs. Young and why heroes should stick to morals. CW explores should government intervention play a part in heroics.
To the people who are saying that Superman would be pro, they have no idea what they are talking about and most definitely don't even know the character.
Yeah.
