lets say the government gave you the resources to fund a superhero team. What characters would you want on your team? U can mix and match dc and marvel. Heroes and villains. Your team can have six characters. So who do you think would make the best team?
Who would be on your hero team?
Can maybe use the government money to hire people like Captain Atom, Blue Beetle, Ray, Human Bomb, Icon, Hardware.
Awesome!
Mine would be:
- Superman (the muscle)
- Captain America (the leader)
- Reed Richards (brains and tech)
- Dr. Fate (handles all that confusing magic stuff)
- Barry Allen (super speed could be very useful)
- Mystique (reconnaissance and spying)
And if I could I'd add Batman. Just because he's my favorite hero. :P
- Silver Surfer(Cosmic attack and defense)
- Thor(Powerhouse and excellent fighter)
- Reed Richards(Genius and tech builder)
- Martian Manhunter(Telepathy attack and defense)
- Dr Strange(magic attack and defense)
- Cyclops(leader and strategist but not the jerk today, the nicer scott)
Superman (Powerhouse/air cover)
Batman (Behind the scenes tactician, like what he does to Terry McGinnis)
Captain America (Field tactician)
Martian Manhunter (Telepathy, stealth)
Flash (Barry allen or Wally, doesn't matter, for ground cover)
Zatanna (because every team needs a female :P + for the magic stuff)

5. Batman
6. Flash
By the way, I created a thread like this but no one seemed to care about it :(
Leader: Ultimate Captain America
Powerhouse/Cosmic: Martian Manhunter
Powerhouse/Teleporter: Obsidian
Scientist/Resources: Black Panther
Magic: Etrigan the Demon
Technology: Iron Man (Extremis)
I think this team would work pretty well together as a more zero morals squad. There's a good mix of melee and ranged, masterminds and powerhouses, and flyers and force-fielders. I think they cover all bases.
Ultimate Cap is brutal with his strategy, is a tactical genius and an undeniable icon. New 52 Martian Manhunter has a barrage of powers and acts as the team powerhouse. Plus, TP. Obsidian himself is pretty powerful (assuming he's not nuts), and also serves as teleportation. Black Panther not only has the entire Wakandan nation behind him, but is also a genius scientist. Etrigan is quite powerful and an experienced magician. And IM is not only the tech expert, ranged flyer and force-fielder, but with Extremis he's basically connected to all-tech.
1. Thor or Superman ( Team powerhouse )
2. Silver Surfer or Nova (Team cosmic user)
3. Kyle Rayner (White Lantern)
4. Batman or or Black panther ( Team strategist, tactician and funder)
5. Doctor Strange or Doctor Fate or Zatanna ( Team mystic and teletransporter)
6. Wally West ( Team speedster)
Awesome!

Good choice. I'd have same but swap out Flash for Magneto, Superman pretty much covers speed and Magneto has many uses.
The Doctor: Planning, tech, intelligence, and trolling the enemies and PIS! who doesn't want PIS?
Martian Manhunter: Powerhouse
Dark Shneider: All in one magic. (Dr. Strange or fate if he doesn't want to join me or wants to become the leader)
Wally West (Speedster)
Sage of six Paths: The master of all Jutsus, and a basically a hax house. Sealing techniques can be very helpful against someone like doomsday.. and he has an awesome tailed beast in him. Soul rip, Soul steal, and the overall wide arsenal..
Now.. It looks like I've covered everything. Who should go for the sixth?
Batman.. cause he's the God damn batman..
No wait, Goku.. Limitless evolution ftw :)

That's a good point.
Superman (Powerhouse/air cover)

I will go with this except I will trade out Zatanna with Dr Fate and Cap with Reed Richards.
Hyperion (Muscle and mind)
Vision ( he do what he want)
Taskmaster (street level fighting machine)
Daimon Hellstrom (Magic)
Big Barda (powerful female character)
Hercules (god/comedy)
- Scarlet Spider ( speed and agility)
- Squirrel Girl ( Team Moral)
- Lobo ( Tough guy)
- Harley Quinn ( Wild Card)
- Ghost Rider ( Divine factor)
- Sentry ( Raw powerhouse)
I'd probably have the extreme ghostbuster team lead by Hawkeye. I'd also kinda wanna figure out a way to shoot in Jean Luc Picard to play some sort of pivotal role on the team maybe like a data analyst type like Oracle.
The reason I prefer Marvel over DC is drama. I was actually surprised to find DC acknowledge this when in the JLA/Avengers crossover Superman said that the Avengers seemed to be in a world where they were in over their heads on a daily basis.
My team needs to have this appeal. The Justice League has some amazing names on it, but as you go down the roster you realize how overstacked it is. Why would Superman EVER need teammates? Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash... okay stop right there. What would Green Lantern or Green Arrow EVER bring to the table that any one of those three can't? But it goes on, Batman, Manhunter, Aquaman. A lot of times they're fighting a guy Superman solo'd 6 months earlier. Other times it's just awful writing breaking them down so the threat seems legitimate. There are truly great stories as well, but it gets harder to pump them out with that setup. Also, it'd be nice to get away from the Silver Surfer/Hyperion/Superman/Dr. Who teams you guys are putting together. Why don't you just choose the Living Tribunal and be done with it?
I feel six is the perfect number for a superhero team. You need enough to feel diverse, but not too much to be overly crowded. Also, powers should be greatly varied. Vision, Iron Man, Ms. Marvel, Thor on the same team? They're all technically different, but in a lot of situations you could just rearrange what they're doing and it would still make sense.
So with this in mind, my team would be:
Havok:
Know anyone who has a resume like this? Avengers Leader. X-men Leader. X-Factor Leader. Brotherhood of Mutants Leader. Mutant X's the Six Leader. Starjammers Leader. He'll be the deputy leader of this team, and he's my favorite Superhero.
Angel:
He's here for his battle savvy, resource provisions, and as my second favorite hero. Here we're going classic Angel, white skin, and baby blue Halo suit. I'm really digging the imagery of the angel wings, and the dichotomy between him being a hated mutant... yet appearing like a deity. When you read the X-men of the 70's and the 80's, you read about a man with metal skin, a man with unbreakable bones, a man who can instantly teleport out of danger, a woman who can shield herself with her mind... and a man who has no defenses anywhere near those others. Yet he has the balls to be on front line every day regardless. That's a superhero.
Beast:
If you haven't figured out the trend going on here, it'll hit you at some point. This team need a mad scientist in the background, and this guy is as good as they come. Perfect personality to contradict Havok's brash decisions and Angel's various issues. He also fits in as the team's agile, low tier Super Strength member.
Rogue:
With Ms. Marvels powers, she is the bruiser of the group. I chose her for three reasons: 1) I didn't want an over-the-top kind of guy. Juggernaut was considered, Thing, even Ms. Marvel herself. But if NONE of these guys could match even Rhino in sheer strength, that's something we can build on. 2) Characters who don't appear to be as strong as they are attract me. Skinny guys like Spider-Man throwing Jeeps down the street. When Hulk does it, it's just not as impressive. And 3) this team needs more girls. Which brings us to...
Jean Grey:
This was a tough choice. I new I wanted another female member, but exactly 'who' was tricky. I've got two fliers, one character with enhanced human attributes, and one with 50 tonner strength. I've got a big time energy projector, a power stealer, and a genius. What is missing? Mental powers. I'm not totally keen on telepathy, as its implementation can be over the top, but I dig telekinesis. Also, I went with a non-Phoenix costume. Most will agree the green, white, and red ones are her best looks, but I want to stress that this is NOT Phoenix imbued Jean Grey. Instead, this is late 60's Jean Grey who has mastered her telekinesis but is struggling to cope with her brooding psionics.
Dr. Doom: Because I can. Victor Von Doom leading a makeshift band of Uncanny X-Men... the best selling comic of alltime.
1. Nightwing (Leader)
2. Superman (Powerhouse)
3. Ben 10 (wild card)
4. Jay Garrick (underdog)
5. Hit-Girl (the Awesome)
- Iron Man (techno-wizard and genius I.Q. level)
- Hulk (genius I.Q. level -this would be the smart green Hulk- and muscle)
- Hawkeye (Leader and strategist)
- Wasp (Leader and heart of the team)
- Darkstar (teleporter)
- Squirrel Girl (stealth and spunk)
