Who would be a good Robin? (Comic Book Question of the Week: 02/26/13)
This topic is locked from further discussion.
Who would probably get it? Tim Drake
Who would I want to get it? MIchaelangelo(not that he'd be good but man would he be fun!)
Who would be the best? Tim Drake
I voted Michaelangelo.
@k4tzm4n Just for clarification you meant Roy Harper right? Cause if its not him then I don't know who Harper Row is...

Nope, I meant Harper Row. Here's her CV page: http://www.comicvine.com/harper-row/29-83111/

She's the new character who's been popping up in Snyder's Batman. She took the spotlight ing Batman #12, and was the one who shocked him awake in #7.

See what I bolded and underlined above.
I'm all in favor of Harper Row having an increased presence in the Batman books, but she's not a brawler. Stephanie has the combat experience needed for the position, and she brings something to the Batman Family that's been missing since the New 52 started, something that Harper Row, while a great character in her own right, lacks. That spark of brightness that Nightwing used to bring, but hasn't really shown lately. Steph is the most upbeat and peppy character in the Batman Family, while Cassandra Cain, who is still awesome and deserves to come back, doesn't bring a whole lot, personality-wise, to the table that we don't already have.
@spinningbirdcake: Steph barely got a chance to really be Robin. Her tenure literally lasted about 3 issues.
@The Mighty Monarch: I guess that just lends to my lack of love for the character. Of course I just want Damian, so I'm going to be a whiny troll about anyone else taking over the position unfortunately.

Stephanie Brown. Seriously some of these options are ridiculous
Well, that's kinda the point.

Ammm Gregg... you left someone out... I'd be happy with either of them tbh.
I did consider Kate Bishop but I'm trying to limit these to 10 options every time. Sorry :(
@spinningbirdcake: Fair enough, my response was more about the idea of Steph over 'a new female Robin.'

Fair enough, kind of thought that. Still good pole. Surprised that Cassandra Cain isn't higher
@johnkmccubbin91: I love me some Stephanie Brown, but I always though Cass had a much bigger fanbase, and Steph was more of a cult hit character. And I love her to death, so I'm super happy to see her winning, but still surprised that she's beating Cass, not to mention Harper Row beating Cass. It's awesome that the top 3 are all female though.
I haven't read any New 52 yet so if anything is inaccurate to the characters except Mikey please understand.
Harper Row seem a logical choice for a brand new robin, but I think the characters appeal is how 'normal' she is.
Stephanie Brown has already been done unless they want to retell her story as robin and her supposed death at the hands of Black Mask, I can see her if they plan to bring her back in the new 52 joining the Teen Titans as Spoiler and developing a relationship with Red Robin.
I voted for Mikey from TMNT because of how funny it would be, I can see it playing out like the relationship Mikey had with Silver Sentry in the 2003 TV show, he would look up to Batman and want to help, but would become a nuisance.

This is the exact same thoughts as I have on the subject, 100% agree.
I'm saying Wally West....not becuase he'd be a good Robin...because I just miss him so very so. but I'd also want Steph or Cass. All three are awesome characters.
Where's the "No One" choice, b/c i think its high time for Batman to Robin behind him. He already groomed 3 sidekicks i think its time for him to just fly solo. Its kinda sad to make him have a sidekick while everyone else on the league just flies solo.
Wouldn' be surprised if Harper got the part but it would seem really weird for Batman to lose a son and pic a new Robin any time soon
@k4tzm4n You read my mind. I was just thinking about making a poll on this same topic.
For me it's Tim Drake all the way. He was the best Robin, IMO pre-52. Dick might be the best character overall now That he's a former Batman and current Nightwing & Jason is probably the coolest member of the Batclan, but he was a terrible Robin. Tim was the first character to be awesome as Robin. He helped recreate that character into something really cool. His solo Robin title was a very strong book all on it's own, and it established him as a Peter Paker-esque character (sans the super powers) with a deeply written and entertaining social life. He was also the Robin that was ordained most likely to be the heir of Batman because he had more training and detective skills than any previous Robin, and occasionally showed the potential to outsmart Bruce.
In the DC 52 (not so new anymore) , he hasn't been given the recognition and treatment thay his character deserves. It's time to make Tim the real Robin.
I'd be fine with Steph Brown or Cassandra as Robin, but I will be furious if they try to call Harper Row a "Robin."
Best case scenario equals- Tim helps Bruce out as Robin after Damian's death much like he did after Jason's death, before the eventual return of Damian.
Worst case scenario = Harper Row being shoe horned in as the new Robin.
