To me they both have had a impact on their worlds of anime and comics. They both are number one in thier ranks so who will you miss more when comics fade away and dragonballz memory is not remeberd?
Who will "YOU" miss more? Goku or Superman.
Probrably, neither one. Not that big of a superman fan and DBZ already eneded a long time ago (not counting Kai).
In popular culture, Superman in the States is pretty iconic. DBZ on the other hand, doesn't have a theme park like One Piece or a giant statue like Gundam.
Neither. Goku overstayed his welcome in DBZ. Thing should have ended after Cell. Supes stopped being relevant and iconic ages ago (although I love Grant's run on him, he basically took Supes power levels back to the orignal level, was awesome seeing the faster than the speeding bullet, stronger than a locomotive, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound motif but all just barely, I thought it was hilarious of Grant to do that).
Here's the thing though, both are based on other mythological beings. Ones obviously from Greek mythology (original Supes is pretty much Hercules) and the other from Chinese mythology (Sun Wukong).
The only difference is Supes gets different authors, Goku is a single author (well other than puke GT). DB ended when the Toriyama said no more, I'm artistically bankrupt with DB unfortunately Supes didn't get the same treatment when he needed it (afterall, the last time Supes ever inspired anyone was when he died :P).
Neither for me.
I was over DBZ by middle school, as for Superman never got into his comics that much.
Why do you think comics will fade? They've been around for about a century, (not talking about superman just comics in general). But for me superman I'm not a huge fan but you show someone a picture of superman almost everyone is going to know who is in the picture your showing, can you say the same for Guku?
Superman is irreplaceable in comics.
Goku is barely relevant to anime.
But that's just my opinion.
this
@Vortex13: NO racist but if i showed a pic to a japansese person they would :p. but i agree but marvel and dc ongoing war to out do eacth other will end them both if they worked together with good sportmanship then it would be good.I mean dc might have the two most memorabable heroes being supes and bats.Marvel most famous heroes are just spidey and wolverine until the nmovies came out. a good idea would to make a MMo where dc and marvel worlds collide.but goku will be remeberd just as superman the3y both will always be know as the msot power chracters ever made.this is the order.
1.Superman
2.goku
3.thor.
If you thik about it Goku and supes are practically brothers. Comics will fade if dc and marvel dont work together to make the other famous. Unfortunaley anime makers are all for working together and if this keeps going anime will last longer then comics D:
I already miss Goku after DBZ ends.....every night i cry myself to sleep saying "he was so awesome....so awesome"
I don't think there will be a reason to miss Superman he's to interwoven into western culture to ever fade when comics go Supes will be like Zeus and the greek pantheon they won't be around as much but there will still be movies and books about them all the time
also it's unfair to ask this question on a sight focussing on comics
@Primmaster64: Nope. Goku is based off his namesake (except pronounced in Chinese which is probably based on a Hindu spirit called a Hanuman). Same name and characters, different pronunciation. In Chinese it's Sun Wukong (Mandarin), Cantonese it's Shoon WuHoong (phonetically).
Look up Journey to the West.
Not sure I understand the question. Do you mean if one of them never existed? Superman impact on the superhero genre is pretty massive to say the least. Goku impact in the manga, even the shonen genre, is pretty negligible it simply had the luck to come to fruition at the same time than the manga industry popularity exploded worldwide.
I'll miss goku more. Both are good, but even supes being the Icon of Comic's, Goku(to me)is the GOD of Anime/Manga.Goku's my hero.He did so much for the Earth.I just prefer dbz over DC period.
Superman.
Though I like Goku better.. It's just that comics wouldn't be the same without Superman.. It would be dull sort of. (in DC anyways)...

both of them are replaceable
superman is irrelevant to comics nowdays IMO,he stoped being a draw many years ago
Although i've never read a Super-man comic whenever anyone says super-hero he's the guy who springs to mind. To be honest I don't like either of them but I think Super-man would have a bigger effect than Goku, doesn't mean he's irreplaceable though.
I'll miss Goku more because Im already missing him. But when you ask who people will miss more, its subjective to each person who knew the characters and not the general population, because 1) most people know Superman even if they know almost nothing about him, but still they wouldnt miss him if they dont really know the character 2) and if you mean miss as in, noticing that its not there anymore, if comics do fade away or Superman fades (highly unlikely for both) people wouldnt remember him and people cant miss something they dont know/remember
PS: Goku's fan base will never fade way as long as there's DVDs, Internet or any other way of spreading DBZ to new generations
ive not been into ''american comics like DC, Image, Dark Horse, Marvel etc. for more than 2-3 years, before that (and still on and off) i read DB for 5-6 years straight - total fanboy, total lover of Goku and even though.. that DB proberly is still my all time favorite comic, i would still miss Superman a million times more than Goku, DB is overrated, its not so great or fantastic, its not so perfect that so many put it to be - its simple, fun and action packed... I never saw the anime though, i thought it was the most boring thing ever! what was it? a fight took 20 episodes.. jeez..... I dont have time for that - the manga rocked though.
