You are going to have to go back to the origins of modern man. Ever since we could think we have dreamed of people who can do it all.

umm...

probably ancient Vampire legends coming from ancient Mesopotamia around 3700 to 4000 BC... which later influenced the ancient Egyptian legends of the dead walking under Anubis' control to reclaim the earth...

earlier than that things get a bit murky for myths and legends, unless you actually want to go right back to the story of Lilith, the first wife of Adam in the creation story after the 7 days of creation, and literally the first Vampire created in Christian myth...

those are the two earliest Vampiric legends, either from religion or from history, pick one, either way you go, Vampires have been around for over 6000 years lol

yeah, a lot of people think Vampires are a modern thing... they aren't...

they have more myths and legends about vampires woven throughout history than they do of Gods lol

i researched it for my A-Level history paper, and some of the stuff i came across was really interesting :D

Is "first" based on oldest story or who would chronologically come first regardless of when the story was told?

Read some stuff about stories of an Earth before Adam (so before Lilith)that was inhabited by all manner of superhuman and supernatural beings.

Vandal Savage goes back to 50,000 BC, that's pretty old, but his comics aren't.

It could very well be this guy, called "The Sorcerer" found in the Lascaux cave paintings, so from c. 13,000 BC.

I don't know, this is actually a good question. The first heroes were ancient Gods like Herc, Zues, ect. However I'm thinking there were being before them that we just don't know about.
