@ccraft: we don't need a decent actor we need a great one to pull off the darkness in Batman's personality

Jeffrey Donovan

As Batman:

As the Detective:

Interacting with Robin:

This guy has pretty much been playing Batman as long as Bale. He needs to put on a few pounds, but he's got the looks and the attitude. Plus he can play the Playboy/Cowl dichotomy very well.

If it's going to be a Superman/Batman film, why wouldn't they call it World's Finest?

We don't need a good actor that can't give us awesome action scenes, Bale was a great Bruce, but not a very good Batman. So why can't we have a decent Bruce and an awesome Batman? This guy can give us a grumpy Bruce Wayne as much as another great actor. I did enjoy TDK trilogy, but I think Scott Adkins can pull off a more interesting Batman.

#57 Posted by Knightfall225 (1713 posts) - - Show Bio

@ccraft: We need an actor who can do both but yea i agree with the whole martial arts thing. We need a Batman who can fight and sure Scott is a great fighter but it all comes down to Batman's personallity. Plus he has to play two different personalities

#58 Posted by ccraft (5031 posts) - - Show Bio

@knightfall225: I think Scott Adkins is capable to do that, he's mainly be in fighting movies and hasn't really gotten into anything else.

#59 Posted by Knightfall225 (1713 posts) - - Show Bio

maybe

jensen ackles. Seeing as he there probably won't be an actual red hood movie unless DC in the future wants to put the bat family in the big screen. Also if they want somebody who the audience likes then ackles definitely has pull seeing as so many people love supernatural.

Ugh who cares. They've ruined their shot at a decent cinematic universe. I'll hold dear Nolan's films, screw the rest of Warner's DC drivel.

#62 Posted by ccraft (5031 posts) - - Show Bio

@extremis: DC is just now starting to build their universe, how'd they screw up already?

I change my answer to Jake Gyllenhaal because Goyer wanted Jake to play Batman but Nolan wanted Bale.

I prefer a bit more man in my Batman

Heir apparent

#66 Posted by Knightfall225 (1713 posts) - - Show Bio

But Jake has a better chance than anyone because he was casted before Bale and Goyer loved him

Adam West....

Snyder is running the show now. He hand-picked Cavill, and he'll probably do the same for Superman.

Hey now, I've already reserved Jeffrey Donovan for Jack Hawksmoor in the Authority movie!

I dont see the point in picking actors for Superheroes films, cause they almost certainly dont pick fan choices usually, its usually somebody you have never seen before or even thought about portraying your favorite superhero. Examples, i had never heard of Henry Cavil prior to playing Superman, Same goes for Chris Hemsworth, i had heard of Robert Downey Jr, but didn't imagine in a million years that he would make a good Iron man, yet they all surprised us with their largely accurate performances, So i think its just better to be surprised and wait, to see who they cast. I haven't been disappointed yet.

#73 Posted by Knightfall225 (1713 posts) - - Show Bio

but the people listed on here said they were trying out and the ones i listed were once casted as Batman over Bale

@heymanjack: whoa liam mcintyre would be interesting. He was great in spartacus.

@cfrehse: He's good but there are better options

#77 Edited by ccraft (5031 posts) - - Show Bio

@monsterstomp: why do people think that you have to be the best actor in Hollywood to act like Bruce Wayne, he's not a very complex character. Scott Adkins acted grumpy threw out Undisputed series, I think he can pull off a grumpy Bruce Wayne.

#78 Edited by MonsterStomp (15760 posts) - - Show Bio

@ccraft: Bruce actually has multiple personalities. A decent actor wouldn't be enough.

#79 Posted by The Stegman (23006 posts) - - Show Bio

Armie Hammer

Online

Can you name some, because all I can think of is pretends to be a rich playboy, and then their's his Batman one. We will never get an awesome Batman unless they hire a martial artist actor, Bale's Batman fight scenes weren't very good, while he was Bruce he was amazing.

I'd like to see Batman do this shit on film! :P

TDKR fight scenes weren't amazing

#81 Posted by GeekBait (778 posts) - - Show Bio

Wayne Newton.

#82 Edited by MonsterStomp (15760 posts) - - Show Bio

@ccraft: Yes, he's a billionaire, playboy, successful businessman, but then he is very moral, has a darker tone etc.

Also those fight scenes are getting ridiculously cliché. Undisputed, Ong Bak, etc. It's dumb and annoying and stupid. Something more realistic like each Bourne movie would be better.

#83 Posted by Knightfall225 (1713 posts) - - Show Bio

I heard Armie Hammer may be doing Antman

#84 Posted by ccraft (5031 posts) - - Show Bio

@monsterstomp: okay it's apparent that you don't want an awesome Batman movie. Theres no reason for Batman to be in the new JL if he just has Bourne fighting skills.

How can you say Batman using martial arts would be cliche :P

Did you miss 'Brokeback Mountain'? He had plenty of man in him in that film!

@ccraft: in response to your reply.

You wanted to know why DC's cinematic universe is hot garbage before it even started. MoS. that's why.

I meant that form of martial arts.

I was thinking more like matrix style or bourne.

@extremis: I see, Supes is suppose to be perfect, I love that argument. >.>

#91 Posted by Extremis (3334 posts) - - Show Bio

@ccraft: oh you're a moron. Just like I suspected

#92 Posted by ccraft (5031 posts) - - Show Bio

@monsterstomp: I still want to see Batman do martial arts, I know in Undisputed had a lot of slow motion, but I wouldn't want to see that in Batman either. Batman needs to be doing jumping kicks, breaking bones, and some sick grapples. And I definitely want to see more of his detective side.

@extremis: I hope you don't go see the next MoS since it's not going to live up to your expectations.

#93 Posted by MonsterStomp (15760 posts) - - Show Bio

@ccraft: I feel like the upcoming DC films would feature a lot of cgi, even for Batman.

#94 Posted by ccraft (5031 posts) - - Show Bio

@monsterstomp: I feel like they might do that too, but it's unnecessary when martial artist actors can easily do.

I don't think its easy moving freely in armour.

#96 Posted by ccraft (5031 posts) - - Show Bio

@monsterstomp: for actors, but many martial artist can fight with armor on, Jason Statham does it in Expendables. He also has a fight scene with Adkins in the 2nd film.

Also at the end of Wolverine Origins Adkins was the bald Deadpool fighting with Wolverine.

#97 Posted by MonsterStomp (15760 posts) - - Show Bio

@ccraft: Yeah but those costumes have to have some free space. Like James Bond's suit would be custom designed. Batman's costume is far too armoured up.

#98 Posted by RustyRoy (10826 posts) - - Show Bio

Karl Urban for an older Batman or Richard Madden as a younger Batman are my top picks.

#99 Posted by cfrehse (1004 posts) - - Show Bio

@ccraft: that movie had great fight scenes.

Also look at :32 of the second video a guy falls over and no one hit him lol

#100 Posted by Wolverine08 (38521 posts) - - Show Bio

I'd go with Scott Adkins.
