Poll Who's voice was better? Nolan's Batman or Nolan's Bane? (47 votes)

Batman because I could actually understand most of his dialogue.
LOL
"WHERE WERE THE OTHER DRUGS GOING?!"
Bane. Sophisticated and cold blooded ruthlessness is far more menacing than screaming, growling, and actually trying to be intimidating.

This.
Batman always sounded silly to me. Bane might have been poorly handled in the studio, but a better audio engineer could've fixed that. Bane is supposed to be intelligent. I like the cold sophistication in his voice. That to me is miles ahead of batman ruining his vocal chords making a voice that sounds like a kid pretending to be a monster.

To be fair I didn't find Bale's Bat-voice bad. At least not until Rises where it got a bit out of hand.
To me, there was nothing menacing about Bane's voice.
Wrong.

Glad to know that I wasn't the only one struggling to understand Bane.
But Batman's voice was a ridiculous attempt (a failed one, at that) at trying to sound ominous.

Christian Bale's Batman voice was awful. I had a hard time taking him seriously when he said some of his lines. His voice was only slightly less awful than Bane's because I could actually understand him.
Both were bad in my opinion. Bale's voice sounded like he was gargling gravel (couldn't take a page out of Conroy's book, huh?), while I couldn't understand 90% of the things Hardy was saying.
Both of them sucked ass. The whole "WHERE IS IT" stuff got old fast and I couldn't even begin to comprehend Bane's dialogues.

To be fair Bale's Bat-voice sounded just fine in Batman Begins
I had no difficulty understanding Bane at all, people really need to clean their ears or to quote Nolan" peddle faster"
Bane. I understood him just fine, and he sounded to me like someone might actually sound like that. Batman's voice was obviously very forced. It sounded like he would probably strain his throat if he actually spoke like that for any amount of time.
Kevin Conroy has the best Bat-voice, IMO. He made Bruce Wayne and Batman sound completely distinct, yet also natural enough that you could see him speaking as either one indefinitely without much of a problem.

@frozen: It wasn't his voice. It was all subconsciously triggered. They didn't like it, so they drowned it out.

So I had something in my ears when I watched it twice at the movies?

I was highly anticipating the movie when I went to the movies. In fact, it was the only thing I looked forward to that year.....
@twix_right_side: Which line did you not understand? Bane was pretty clear in what he said. There's not really a line which was inaudible that I can think of, and whenever Bane spoke, the scene focused in.

Maybe...
@twix_right_side: No I didn't mean the film. I believe that most people hated the voice so much that whenever he (Bane) spoke, they subconsciously blocked the actual words.
Think Peanut Gang when hearing adults speak. Lots of "wah wah waaaaah Mr Waayne"
Bane. His voice was very weird and not what I initially expected, but somehow still worked for the performance..
Bane's voice. I think it matched the character's portrayal as well as the original mythos of the character. Throughout the years, Bane's character has been misconstrued as a juiced up luchador. People tend to forget that he was muscular, but not at bodybuilder proportions, he was very intelligent and tactical (enough to be a match for Batman), and his father is British with blond hair and blue eyes.

It won't be the first time some people went into a movie with a bias, but I'm not sure if it can be said for most people.

Almost half of his lines tbh
Other parts I could understand, though. It was mainly because of the mask, but your experience was obviously different from mine. It depends on the person
I feel like I'm in the minority when it comes to Batman's voice, but personally I liked it and it made sense to me in the fact that the voice sounded like something not-human, which is what Batman is suppose to appear like to criminals. But at the same time it also was meant to disguise Bruce's voice to better help hide his identity.
Sure, using a voice-disguise like Green Arrow does on Arrow might have been a better idea, but for what it was I actually never really minded the voice in the Nolan films.

I never minded the voice or thought it was ridiculous either --- I think I struggle to find it ridiculous because it'd be an Oxymoron to what Batman is.
I love both, but Batman voice was cooler.
Bale's voice only irritated me in the DKR tunnel scene. Specifically the "that depends, on what you wanted for" I cringe every time i hear that.
@war_killer: So you like the chain-smoker out of breath voice?
