Who Owns The Film Rights To Namor?
@binski: Universal?
@jonny_anonymous: Universal owns the rights to Namor (who previously owned The Hulk rights.)
@lyrafay: Well that sucks, he cant appear in anybodies film then
@jonny_anonymous: Yeah but then again Universal doesn't have a superhero franchise as opposed to everybody else, so they still could use him. Interestingly enough Man-thing's rights is at Lionsgate.
@lyrafay: Why would anybody buys movie rights for Man-thing lol
@marlboroman: No Idea!!
@lyrafay: Yea but would a Namor film with no other big Marvel characters be any good? Funny thing is I think Lionsgate would do quite well by Man-Thing
@marlboroman: You could make a great horror film with him
@jonny_anonymous: Probably not but I agree with you on the Man-Thing/Lionsgate, that could do well.

@awesam: Have you seen it?
I watched it when I was 14 or 15. Really crappy, but disturbing. I'm surprised no one here has heard about it.

Crappy in a straight-to-DVD horror movie way. Watch it if you like the character, but it's really weird. Man-Thing looked pretty cool, though.
@awesam: I remember watching on Scifi thinking it was one of the crappy ones they make.

@mr_ingenuity: beat me to it
Wth, Namor is owned by Universal? That's no use to anybody.
Seriously. Those rights probably wouldn't be too difficult for Marvel to get back. What could Universal even do with Namor?
Current list seen on reddit.
They need to add that they had to sell them because they were going bankrupt.
