SUPERMAN
who is the most popular superhero?
@wolverine08: In all honesty though, the reason why I like the Big 3 iconic heroes is mainly because I was exposed to them most in my childhood and because of their strict moral codes. They're all inspirational in their own way and I fail to see why there's this endless bickering over superiority when it's all subjective about who one likes the most.
The Batman.
@havenless: @wolverine08: truth is I'm talking more about non comic reader then comic readers I think. like the Hipsters who watched TDK twice and TDKR once and now love batman. The same hipsters have seen bits and pieces of Christopher Reeve's superman movies and then automatically jump on the "He's to perfect, overpowered, lame and boring bandwagon."
So non comic book readers don't count as fans? Superman is popular and Iconic because of the numerous TV series and movies he starred in, without those he wouldn't be as popular as he is today.
Superman as in consistency. Heck, his S shield is one of the most identifyable symbols in the world (including religious symbols).

Believe me its not as identifiable as the Batsymbol.
@bunt947: wolverine? ... I love the guy but he is not in that league
@blackdog2009: There is a big gap between 3rd and 4th. But he is in the top 5 IMO. Wolverine is really famous at least where I live. Non comic book fans definitely know him better than heroes like Wonder Woman, Green Lantern or Captain America..
@rustyroy: Anyone around the world will say "Oh, Superman!" When they see the S. The Bat symbol, however, has had many different adaptations, and not everyone in the whole world will recognize it instantaneously. There was a test done around the world about 5 years back that recorded that the S shield is the second most recognizable symbol in the world besides the Christian Cross.

You've got a link? I know many people who don't know Superman's symbol, even when I show them they say it doesn't look like 'S', although most people recognize any Bat logo as the the Batsymbol, even the ones that aren't Batsymbol. And there are plenty well known symbols that are far more recognizable than the S shield or the Batsymbol, Swastika and many other symbols and logos are definitely above the 'S' symbol.
Batman
Superman.
@havenless: the batman women looks a lot better
Emp3rorD4v1d marked this as the best answer
Most well known and Iconic: Superman
Most popular: Batman
This and then Spider-Man comes after.
@rustyroy: lol they don't know the Superman symbol?! Bull$&it ! You're making that up. Good one!
@havenless: the batman women looks a lot better
Subjective. The Superman chick is in insane shape and has a nice tan. Plus, you have photographic truth that her face isn't in the spitting image of Melissa McCarthy.

Not making that up, he's not as popular in the rest of the world as he is in US, he's logo hasn't even been that much publicized in the last few years, I'm not saying its not well known but its that much well known that some people are making it out to be.
he's logo hasn't even been that much publicized in the last few years
that is the most nonsensical statement you could make, it is extremely erroneous and inaccurate, where the heck do you live?
@blackdog2009: No where the heck do you live? You think everyone reads comics? Popularity comes from movies, games, TV shows and other things, I not saying he's not popular at all but he's not as popular as he used to be. Superman, Batman etc. aren't considered characters anymore, they are brands and Superman hasn't had that much exposure in the recent years. You're not even arguing or proving your point, you're just saying that I'm wrong.
Superman, Batman and Spiderman.
If we're talking about most well known kind of popular Superman is number one, with
Spider-Man and Batman tied for second. However the success of his recent movie trilogy has pushed BM ahead in popularity especially with non conic fans.
No,. It's Batman, then Spider-man then Superman.
Batman and Spider-man has been tremendously big with their own films and their films are being shown worldwide.
1. Batman 2. Superman 3.spiderman .4Hulk ( im pretty sure everyone says his catch phrase atleast once in their lives
Batman
Superman.
Storm guy!
The answer is Batman. It will always be Batman. There are a number of elseworlds comics that show a rogue/evil-ish Superman: Injustice: Gods Among Us, Red Son, Justice Lords from JL, and so on and so forth.
Aside from his involvement in Justice Lords and the existence of Owlman, Batman doesn't have a "good-guy-turn-rogue" storyline (and the aforementioned incidences included ALL the other core members of the JL so it doesn't single out Batman anyways.)
But DC wouldn't DAREdo a story involving a Batman that turned evil. Batman is the guy who is supposed to be the unwavering last line of defense for justice. (if there is such a story, then please bring it to light so that my entire post may be turned irrelevant). He's the guy that, in the grand scheme of things, protects the free will and rights of humanity against the so-called "gods" of the Justice League despite being relatively normal by comparison.
Batman is, for all intents and purposes, "untouchable."
It's pretty obviously Batman. He ties with Superman for being the most well known, and utterly destroys him when it comes to being the most well liked. So all in all for popularity -
1. Batman
2. Spider-Man
3. Superman
After that it's a toss up between Hulk, Iron Man, Wolverine, and Thor.
