Who is the most over rated hero/villain? - Gen. Discussion

Besides Superman, Batman, Hulk, Thor, or Flash.

To me it would have to be Iron man, every one thinks he is so cool, my friend(doesn't read comics) said, "I bet Iron Man could take on the Justice League by himself".

Besides Batman? Probably Wolverine. Deadpool was hot on his heels for a while, but I think his hype is beginning to dwindle.

I don't know about heroes, but the most overrated villain is Dr. Doom, he's not THAT cool, and he's not some omniscient being with prep.

I was going to say Flash was most overrated, but he was already included. Same with Superman So, here's mine:

Hero: Not sure. I need time to think, because my immediate choices are Flash and Superman.

Villain: Vulture

How many people still take Vulture seriously as a villain though? I think he sits next to Penguin and Riddler as once iconic villains that everyone laughs at now.

The entirety of the Fantastic Four is overrated ESPECIALLY Mr Fantastic. But i understand why people love them i just think they havent aged well but that's just me.

The most orrated villian to me is Carnage.

Vulture has never been iconic. He has always been overrated.

Popular might've been a better term then iconic. Stan Lee used the character a lot so I imagine at one point he might've been overrated, but do you know anyone that gets hyped about Vulture appearing, or list him among their favorite characters, or comes on this board and argues about how awesome he is?

Hell, this is the longest I think I've ever talked about the character, and we are basically arguing the degree in which the character sucks. Can't really be overrated these days when his fanboys are essentially 0.

My least favorite major hero is Hulk! Everyone loves the big green guy, and I have no idea why. They just started pulling out all these insane things for him to do. Hulks the strongest! Let him give Galactus a cosmic wedgie. ect:

Overrated villain? I kinda consider Punisher a villain, he's overrated - but I know he falls in =to the antihero craze - so i'll go with any symbiote. Lets say Carnage.

Batman and Superboy Prime. I know Batman will always be around, but Superboy Prime is a complete waste of panels and it doesn't take much to write him. He had fantastic powers and no one loved him. It's right up your alley if you never got a pony for Christmas or you never got the first and second stimulus check.

Hero: Hulk...somehow "getting stronger as you get angrier" became an ultimate power for many.

Villain: Professor Zoom..yeah, he 's tough, but I have a hard believing he could beat "cosmic beings" (like the Silver Surfer.)

Hero: Hal Jordan who really is a bad bad bad character. Shallow, uninventive and offensive to other characters without a reason.

Villain: Mister X who ultimately invariably ends up doing something stupid and clumsy.
