Who is more Iconic Superman or Goku

@granitesoldier: Yes. You are very wrong. I started watching DBZ before I was even 10. And I have rewatched it numerous times.

And how does Goku improve himself? He trains to better his fighting ability to constantly test himself. He does not act on his wife's grievances and get a job. Or support his family in any way other than "save the earth." He doesn't try to be a better person or inspire others to do so.

Goku does not stack up even in the opinion category. Superman has just accomplished far more.

@blackwind: If you are only getting physical training out of it, you missed part of the message. It's all about self sacrifice and honor. It's about being something better than you were before, overcoming odds. He isn't about being the perfect man like Superman, he's about accepting your flaws and trying to improve them. He mentors his son, a lot. And by the by he does provide for his family, he's a farmer.

You may not have gotten these messages, but they are there. If you didn't get it out of the anime read the manga. That's all I have to say on it, you may agree with it but I'm not asking you to. It's there and I know I'm not the only one who's seen it. Maybe you'd need to read the manga to see it, since you said you only saw the anime.

Superman is more iconic in a popularity vote around the world, but when it comes down to what makes these two heroes iconic, that is debatable. ... In my opinion goku is a more iconic "hero" because he is constantly training to become stronger and better then everyone else. Superman does nothin. Goku basically grew up by himself, surviving in the wild. He craves nothing more then to challenge stronger people, superman does not.

Virtually no adult knows Goku outside of Japan.

Compare their stats, but don't compare them where it makes no sense.
