Cyborg Superman is awesome. Thanos just seems really old now. His evil plots and character design are also really old. Avengers 2 will probably bring him back into the spotlight though.

Did Cyborg Superman ever seized control of the entire universe? (honest question here: I haven't read the entire DC). If not, I'd be inclined to say that Thanos has been a more central character to his universe than the other guy. Thanos has also probably been the biggest bad ass villain of Marvel for over 15 years (from cosmic cube saga to the infinity Gauntlet, even maybe to The End, but that is debatable).
