Which of these best friends Death was more Iconic? Hal's Death after becoming Parallax and late becoming the specter or Barry after fighting the anti monitor?
Who had the more Iconic Death? Hal Jordan or Barry Allen?
Barry, by far. C'mon, his death led the way to the greatest Flash, Wally West, taking up the mantle. Whereas Hal Jordans death turned into Kyle Rayner being a pacifistic beezy struggling with incredible power while his girlfriends got slaughtered en masse lol
@dathomiesilversurfer: I think you meant Barry's death led to the 2nd best flash taking up the mantle :3
@tex_the_slayer: This.
Barry>>>>Wally.

Barry Allen, not only did his character usher in the Silver Age but his death ushered in the Modern Age of comics (or ended the Bronze Age, however you want to interpret it), few can say they were able to have that kind of impact on an entire era of comics, let alone twice. That and well, there is a reason it took over 25 years to finally bring him back to Hal's 10 years.
@juliedc: I'd say that Gwen Stacy's death started the Silver Age.

@spidey_jackson: No, that started the Bronze Age. The Silver Age started in 1956.
Barry. It's probably one of the most famous deaths in comics.
I suppose, but it wasn't even the most famous during COIE. That iconic Supergirl cover puts her way ahead of him.
@juliedc: Going by the wrong timeline.
My bad.

oooo kill em
Barry Allen. He die saving universe. Besides he never kills people. Yup Hal Jordan you become parallax and murder people. Remember that
Hal's death also led to him being Spectre, which I really enjoyed.
I don't really think of either death as iconic, the aftermath, but not the deaths themselves.
@boynerdgeek: Didn't Barry Kill Zoom once?
Barry Allen. He die saving universe. Besides he never kills people. Yup Hal Jordan you become parallax and murder people. Remember that
Ironically before his death Barry was on trial for killing Professor Zoom.
Also Flash's death was definitely more iconic though Hal's was great.
Barry, he literally ran himself to death. Hal just flew head-first into the sun.
Also Barry had the greater impact, both immediate (saving the universe vs saving the system), and long-term (protegé taking over, starting a family, own protegé and so on). Plus Barry had the good grace to actually stay dead for so long.
Barry. No contest. Hal's death just brought shame.

I'm with him even though I kind of don't trust him. I just have this thing where if a user doesn't select an icon/avatar I find it hard to trust them. (+)
Barry's death easily, one of the most famous comic book deaths ever.
Hal's death also led to him being Spectre, which I really enjoyed.

Barry's death is very iconic.
Barry by far.
I always forget Hal even died.
Barry. It's probably one of the most famous deaths in comics.

Yes it was. I didn't even know she died in that until I read the story. The Panel with the withering Barry Allen while he talks himself into pushing harder trumps any death ever seen at the time.
The cover was momentous, but the death itself meant next to nothing.
Barry probably has the 4th or 5th most iconic comic death. On the other hand, most comic readers sometimes forget Hal even died lol
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!
@princearagorn1: I think part of it is, people still hold the whole Parallax thing against Hal. It's a kind of deal where it's like "Eh...made up, at least." Wheras people look at Barry as a hero with a heroes death.
Hal was more atonement than anything, to some.
Barry. It's probably one of the most famous deaths in comics.

Really? I honestly don't even remember Barry's death that well. Supergirl's sticks out forever in my mind, the way Dr. Light called to her just before she died. *shrug*
Barry Allen, duh.
Huge GL fan but Barry's death was more iconic by far.
Barry, by lightyears.
Barry, come on it happened during COIE.
These!
