You're on a swat team and you're given the option to pick between Batman and Captain America to be your tactical leader. There are hostages in a building that need to be saved. Who do you pick to lead your team to success?
Who do you trust more?
Batman
I'm not sure. I'd have to know more about the situation, like the layout of the building, approximate number of hostiles and hostages, and how important time is.
If it's a delicate Mr. Zasz-like situation, where an armed response would likely result in the deaths of the hostages, Batman should handle it.
If there are a lot of armed hostage-takers, time is of the essence, or there are a lot of factors at play in general, I want Captain America on my side.
Have you seen Gotham's murder rate? In spite of Batman's best efforts, countless people die on his watch. His main thing is sticking it to the bad guys, not rescuing the innocent. Not saying he doesn't, because rescuing innocents is something Batman does a lot, but it's not the staple of his character. Vengeance is. I'd take Cap

@amazingwebhead: Regular Cap
@amazingwebhead: Regular Cap
Then him
Captain America. Batman wouldn't kill any of the terrorists, and then they'd just do it again 2 issues later.
I was going to pick Batman but considering the scenario, it's Cap. He has way more experience in war zones. Live experience on the field is much more valuable than learned tactics by itself. If it was just the two of us, I'd stick with Batman, though. For the company.
@ms-lola: Since when is Batman good company? Cap would probably make friends with you and tell you war stories. Batman would sullenly give you orders and vanish after the mission, where Cap would have given you a reassuring pat on the back.

@darthmummy: Just a wee bit of sarcasm on my part. :P I agree with you about Cap.
Batman. Especially if I were trained by him, him and his family work together flawlessly.
