well he was once "killed" by doing something so he couldn't live in the Green (I forget what) so he basically had to travel outer space to find other planets where the plant-life wasn't green but he was definitely beaten even if he managed to barely survive and eventually return...it wasn't PIS though, it was written by the guy who invented his powers in the first place...to be fair though, Swamp Thing has continuously gotten more and more powerful, so his early stories (like that one) don't really mean much anymore...his second series ended with him being the spirit of the entire earth and able to control all of it

@jobbernos: well, like I said, he's had losses but they don't exactly count in the context you probably mean because they were part of the period where he was discovering new powers so yes he's been beaten multiple times but if you want to be technical, at his highest peak he never really had any stories so who knows if he could've been beaten...his second series was cancelled with the final issue being him reaching his peak, the next series after that followed his daughter instead and the fourth series had him go back down in power in the first arc

Anyone who can bust an Earth sized planet, leaving it without vegetation.

The earth-sized planet would also have to be devoid of rocks, atmosphere and water. If I remember correctly.

Swamp Thing is basically a god.
