could be one or a whole list
Who are your favorite comic characters?
I'm probably like the only guy who likes all characters and all versions of the characters no matter how stupid they are.
Elvin Haliday, Punchy, Blue Beetle, Rogue, Rick Grimes, Carl Grimes, Michonne, Static,Iron Man, Black Panther (and Storm. OTP) Robbie Baldwin. I'm sure there more, I can't think of any right now..
1) Silver Surfer - what can I say, I like characters with some corny background like Norrin Radd's. Sacrificed his mortality...his humanity...to become herald to the eptiome of universal destruction (and balance), Galactus...to save his homeworld and his love, Shalla Bal. While in the employ of Galactus, Norrin destroys billions, only to become aware of the devastation he's caused. Stricken, but endowed with the power cosmic (and deemed an individual of special importance in the universe), Norrin spends the rest of his life trying to atone for his sins.
2) Thor - Originally, Stan's be all end all of superheroes, much controversy has surrounded the Thunder God these days as to whether or not he still holds the title of Marvel's most powerful superhero.
3) Blue Marvel
4) Blade
5) Ghost Rider
6) Dr. Doom
7) Thanos
8) Batman

Cheshire, Brick, Plastique, Cheetah, Blackfire, Gorilla Grodd, Sinestro, Despero, Blockbuster, Vandal Savage, Professor Anthony Ivo, Maijor Force, The Ultra Humanite and Killer Frost. That's all I can think of right now...
Supergirl -- original Silver Age, early post-Crisis ghost who held a poignant conversation with Deadman in a DC Xmas Special, Matrix even when she was in love with Lex Luthor, the friend of Wally a.k.a. God versions (including the one who becomes Superman's ex-wife in an altered pre-Crisis Earth 1)
Power Girl -- almost any incarnation except the silly Giffen Justice League and New 52
Andromeda of the Legion of Superheroes -- the first two incarnations before they turned her into a racist religious zealot
Wonder Woman -- original Golden Age, late Silver Age (when she was nearly Kryptonian level in her strength), the George Perez version, and the Trinity mini-series version who admits to having once had both a crush on Superman as the ideal husband type and on Batman as the classic bad boy
Zatanna -- but only when she is written by a writer who can embrace her use of backwards spells instead of apologize for her or otherwise demean her into a run-of-the-mill wizardess instead of the awesome woman she is
Huntress -- both the original daughter of Batman on Earth 2 and the original incarnation as a gangster's daughter, before she was simplified into someone for Batman to disapprove of
June Moone / Enchantress -- during her brief stint in the Suicide Squad only
Catseye of the Hellions -- before the writers turned her into a tedious monster to kill off for cheap sentiment
Ms. Marvel -- only since she gave up her Warbird nom du guerre and writers stopped reducing her to a sexualized caricature of feminism -- for example, she was particularly well handled in the various Siege titles!
Namora -- specifically as she is handled in Agents of Atlas!
Firebird -- back when they were hinting she had received the Phoenix Force and she thought she had been blessed by God
Spider-Woman / Jessica Drew -- most particularly her original series with its wonderfully surreal poetry and dark fantasy moments with sympathic foes such as the tormented 15-foot tall dancer Daddy Longlegs and the Needle, a traumatized tailor who sewed people's lips together
Lady Luck and Miss Masque of the Golden Age
I should probably include a few male superheroes :
Wiccan and Hulkling of the Young Avengers -- the cutest couple in all of superherodom bar none
Osiris -- particularly when he was part of a family unit with Black Adam and Isis
Doctor Fate -- any incarnation in which he wears a full helmet and not a half-face helmet -- except the very silly one with the demon with a German accent
The Green Lama -- Golden Age incarnation in particular
the Golden Age Daredevil
The Fly and The Shield (whether MLJ or !mpact) -- except for the failed effort to imitate camp in the 1960s, during the time when The Fly was called instead Fly-Man
(for that matter, both The Black Hood and Jaguar as they were handled by !mpact though not their original MLJ versions)
Ozymandias & Dr. Manhatten -- of the Watchman comic book limited series not the exploitative film
Airboy -- both Golden Age and the later Eclipse series in which The Heap became a hero
The Martian Manhunter (R.I.P.)
both DC's Congorilla and Marvel's Gorilla Man of the Agents of Atlas
Starbrand -- back when Jim Shooter wrote the title, before John Byrne wrecked it as a cheap bully tactic against Shooter
Miracle Man by Alan Moore
and
Space Ghost -- forgive me?

10.Martinique Jason, the second Mastermind,
Heroes: Bats, Supes, Spidey. For the more eccentric/less obvious picks, I'd say Silver Age Spectre, the guy the Fleischer/Aparo version from the 70's. Once upon a time the Legion of Super-heroes was my favorite book (70's-80's run) and I really liked Garth, Ayla and Mekt Ranzz...still do, but they aren't as prominent as they once were.
Villains: Joker, Norman Osborne. When the Legion was a better book, I really liked Computo, Mordru and Time Trapper.
Superman, Spiderman (ok got the obvious out of the way)
Sabretooth, shame they are dumbing/weakening him more and more
Apocalypse, never is written up to potential, but his back story, immortal, celestial, vision all make him great to me
Cable yeah he dies a lot and comes back but it isn't his fault, he seems like one of the best good guys, very pragmatic, butt kicking, but a good guy. He seems best fit for a team leader over anyone else
FF, family, heart and soul
Thanos, yeah I'm not sure he's totally original, but his take is much more interesting.
Supreme, the original version was best
Tetsuo (Akira)
The Greatest American Hero
X-23
